Finally Honda has released the specs behind the 2015 Pioneer 700 line. Changes are shuttle, For the 700-4 Honda replaces Green with a NEW "Metallic Silver" that many will call "black". Yet confused as the P2 keeps the Green??? Digging in a little deeper you find a NEW Front Dual-Rate Spring on both the 700-2 and 700-4 and of course the updated skid plate. Beyond that it remains the same as the 2014 version boasting all the exact specs as expected.

Well at least they addressed the skid plate and suspension issues ... wonder if they did anything different to intake and spark arrestor?

Interesting. I was part of the paid R&D survey/feedback and they begged for pictures of my plasti-dipped Pioneer. Now there is a black one out. I know I wasn't the 1st or only person to "dip" it but it sure was funny how bad they wanted pictures!

I'm sure there are "subtle" changes that they probably don't really want to boast about.

I am super glad I did not wait for a '15 model. I was worried that they would add a low range or something else that would make me regret not waiting. I think I must have gotten one of the last '14s in the state of CA. When I was looking for my Pioneer, there local Honda\Kawasaki\KTM dealer that was giving away a $1000 generator with any ATV/UTV/Dirtbike purchase over 400cc, the only exclusion was the Pioneer!

I figured there would not be any major changes. Would not make much business sense to do that with only 1 year on the books. I was hoping for more along the lines of a "deluxe" version. Most likely it will be a few years before the next version is released. But I do hope it's tomorrow.

Hopefully they're right, wonder if it is a backwards fix and if it makes any difference for those of us near sea level?

I would think the high elevation fix is either a simple ECU update or at least a bench recall for us '14 owners. Living in CA I don't have many high elevation issues though.

Wonder if that's related to the "all new intake design"?

675cc Liquid-Cooled Engine
The liquid-cooled four-stroke single-cylinder has tons of torque and plenty of power. Fuel injection means it starts right up, even on cold days or at high altitude. An all-new intake design helps minimize dust and particulate ingestion. And the Pioneer’s engine is rubber-mounted on a separate subframe to reduce vibration
.

I missed that "all new intake" part. Wonder what else they thrown in.. lol.
Could a fix... Could be anything from a different snorkel cap, Pipe, or better injector.
Be hard to tell if they never release more detailed specs.

I wonder if it's an omission by the web people. Kinda weird since the fenders are all the same size.
