I'm looking at lifts and I'd like someone that has one to weigh in.

How high have you lifted yours?
Who's lift kit did you use?
Is 3" too high? (will it break axles or tear boots?)
If you made your own, do you have a drawing?
Some lifts are straight up while some (simpler) are inward. Does it really matter?

I like your upper bracket.

What is the basic problem with the highlifter?

It puts too much leverage on the upper shock mount. It will bend it and tear it from the frame.

The lifts that move the bottom of the shock in toward the center of the vehicle will in effect soften the ride because it gives the wheel slightly more leverage on the shock. It's not a huge deal BUT if you are already thinking your suspension is too soft it's something to consider.

Some say I ride hard, I really don't think so. Either way you look at it, HL is a flawed design if used on the 3" setting. Some people may not have trouble YET. I say that because I too was warned about the HL and told people the same thing you are telling me now. I thought I was good as I had been beating my pioneer with out failure. It just took a little more time.

I am convinced. The HL has a long moment arm by design. Putting the lift down on the A-arm (like your design) is better.

Why buy a lift, if your going to replace your shocks. Just get suspension lift with better travel.

I have a 2" lift with 28 and have broke right front 3 times.
