Looking at side by sides, can't decide wether to go with the 700-4 or the 1000-5. Looking for feed back on the 700 side of things. Any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated.

I had a 2014 pioneer 700-4 and put 1200 miles on it with no problems but if you want to go faster than 45 mph and want tuf mode the 1000 is the way to go

We need more info on your intended use to really give a good answer

We have a camp, so a little of work and a little of play. We want to be able to take our granddaughters out for a ride when their visiting. Haul a little firewood from time to time also do some hunting.
It sounds like the 700 would be fine for you. I use mine basically the same way. There are a few reasons I wish I had a 1000, they are-

I could benefit from the higher top speed

The manual tranny would be fun

Turf mode would be nice occasionally

No real deal breakers on the list, so I'll keep my 700 for a long time. I use it on my ranch and I take it trail riding a few times a year. I did add suspension and power steering which helped the trail riding, but depending on your driving style you may not need those items.

You might want to get a used pioneer 700-4 and save $10000.00. from what you said it would do everything you need to do.

I just picked up my p7-4 last week. For my p7 setup 14.5k vs 20k for same setup for the p1k-5. Then i thought about my use. Better gas mileage with smaller motor I cruise between 25-35mph logging roads on my main camping trail 5-10mph.

My setup from Honda glass windshield, wiper, volt meter, hard roof, a-arm guards.

I ordered my winch from Amazon warn 3000lbs. And kfi mount $350. Quite a bit cheaper than the $270 Honda mount.

PS- in honest I wouldn't mind a P1k5 just for he turf mode and just to mess with my neighbor and his p7. Haha

Well we just took a 1000-5 for a test ride, I must admit it's quite nice. We have to go back next week to try the 700-4 as the only one they have left just go off loaded and requires assembly. $25k out the door for the 1000-5 with a few accessories and $19k for the 700-4 with the same accessories. Quite a difference to justify.

That's too much to justify for either of them. It's a Honda and dependable and you can buy 2 slightly used 700-4 loaded with accessories for less than 19K or buy a new 700-4 and a new 500 with accessories for less than 25k. I like new and have bought 2 new ones in the last 2 yrs and added accessories but those prices I would shop around a bit. I want a 1000-5 though and it better have a kitchen sink for 25k.

You have to remember that I'm in Canada and right now it cost us almost $1.40 to buy an American dollar. All toys are more expensive in Canadian funds. I'm on the Michigan boarder and the dealer in Michigan can't sell to a Canadian so popping across to buy one won't work either. Also we pay 13% sales tax on top of everything as well.

A pioneer 500 with no accessories here is $14,000.00 out the door.

Ah ok. Good luck on what you choose. They are all good machines. I still think it needs a kitchen sink for 25K. Cheers!!!

Waiting for the dealer to get a 700 assembled this week and will be testing it out. The only worry the wife has is the lack of power steering. From reading several reviews power steering is not an issue most of the time. Hopefully this week we will decide. And the grand kids are already anxious to go for rides with Grampa.

We had the 700 now the 1000. Love both obviously the 1000 is way stronger but low and manual are nice power steering factory running 5 people and ability to cruise at 50-55 easily. Ok with that said if those thing aren't needed...do the 700. Great machine as well!!! 2700 on our with only a couple oil changes. Very good machine. If the difference you can justify for yourself go 1000 because you can't go wrong and doubt you'd have regrets but if not the 700 will give you years of already proven success. Getting done what it looks like you need to do(giving the kids a ride around is definitely one of those) either will do it.
