Hey scott, how was the knee room, I'm 6'5", and knee rubs on pioneer 700, hoping 1000 will have a few more inches. Honda pictures show the pioneer 1000 dash curves in while the 700 dash runs straight.

Here's a compilation of some demo ride clips that show the P1000-5Deluxe idling, taking off, and driving by. It is a very quiet machine which will be great for hunting and exploring the woods without scaring off critters.

Here's some footage from my lower quality helmet camera- it wasn't always aimed quite right so my apologies. Shifting was smooth, the paddle shifters worked great, it felt good all around. In regular 2WD it did push a bit in the powder dusted corners with a load of 5 full size adults. The suspension leveled out quickly and provided a fairly flush ride, though the rear seat passengers complained it was a bit rough going slower over the whoops. Lots of fun... In manual mode the machine will automatically switch to 1st gear when you stop.

Once we figured out the modes a bit, Rick (former Ranger and current Gator 850i RSK rider) took a brisker pace. Again, with 5 people it would push in the soft corners a bit but was better in turf mode. It swallowed the bumps very nicely. It was odd that Auto-Sport mode would let it hit the rev limiter so easily- I'm wondering if Honda has a lower limit during break-in like the Can-Ams? Very peppy and a nice ride.

Matt finished off the test rides and I was able to ride from the back, though only four people were in the rig this ride. We thought the ride was pretty darn good- we suspect a quicker pace over the whoops smoothed them out a bit. Sport-Auto mode was selected for the whole ride here. Takeoff from low range was instant and impressive. Not only is this thing a workhorse, but it's pretty darn fun too. Sport mode is refreshingly aggressive.

I'd say we ranged from 5'8" to 5'10"- we had plenty of room and I suspect you'd be good in either the passenger or driver seat- not so much in the middle seat or back maybe. I tried to show the legroom in some of the videos...

Thanks for the videos. What's your overall impressions?

If I were in the market for a full size UTV there'd be no question- I'd get a Pioneer 1000-3. It is a solid feeling machine that appears to be built and engineered in Honda's typical high-durability fashion. As it is I really need a smaller machine- our trails are a bit too tight and my tow vehicle would not be happy with a full size machine. I'll probably end up getting a Pioneer 500 to replace my '08 RZR at some point, though I would LOVE to see Honda come out with a 55-56" version of the Pioneer 1000!
