UNBELIEVEABLE!!!

I had no idea this mod would make such a difference. Green02crew I owe you a beer. Your write-up was a great seller.

My grandson and I finished putting the Can-Am shocks on Sunday and I could tell the difference in the ride pulling out of the shop. I tossed a couple of 2x4's in the back yard and drove over them. You can't even feel them. The OEM shocks are WAY to stiff.

I gained 2.75" in the front and 2.0" in the back (lowest setting).

No question, the suspension is 100% improved with the Can-Am shocks.

I added 27in mega mayhem tired. Do you think adding these shocks would be too tall for the axels?

Tires have no effect on cv shaft angles.

One thing that also changed is the entry height! I'm 6'3" and it's definitely a little more effort to get in the seat.

What is the difference between the OEM yellow springs and the black ones? Can the black ones work? I was reading on the can am forum that there is no difference only that the 800's are black and the 1000's are yellow, but they are same spring and same rating.

My research did not turn up any differences between springs other than colors.

OK cool. TY. Does it have to be "XT" model springs?

EDIT: nevermind, I think the 800 is not XT and the XT is the 1000. I'm not up to date on the can am models because I own a pioneer 700-4 lol.

Those are the ones you should look for. The higher models such as the xtp have different shocks which might work but I have no idea, never even seen them. The lower models such as the plain commander non-xt model should be using the same shocks. I think I posted earlier on in the thread what year and model machines to look for shocks from.

Sounds like you have the answer. I love my yellow springed shocks but the black springs are probably the same.....but I have not researched it so I am going on what you said.

A little expensive from what I have been seeing them go for but not that terrible. Try offering lower.

They were going for $150-$200 earlier.
I think your guy is asking a little much too.

Why couldn't you have found me some for $200 when I purchased mine. I could only find 2 or 3 sets and 1 guy gave me the run around for a month. Even at $300 that's still 1/4 of the price of Fox shocks and that's not even going to lift it like the XT's will do. Spyfid has fox shocks and he stated that the XT's ride as good as the fox shocks do on his ride. Sooo $300 isn't bad..when considerin 1200+ for full set of fox's and $150 for a lift kit to be equal to the XT's at $300.

I guess you are right. I remember you were getting the run around from that guy when I bought mine.
I got em for $150 plus shipping. But maybe that is very low and shouldn't be expected every time.

I retract my first post and say BUY EM! You will never be more proud of a $300 modification.

I offered 250 and he immediately rejected saying the are over 200 a piece brand new, I will pay the 300 cause I really want to do this modification. Plus like y'all say you get better then or equal too ride as the Fox shocks for way less and a lift kit.
