P500 ‘Gear’ indicator light on P5 display?

I changed oil/filter, took it for a ride and for the first time saw the ‘GEAR’ illuminated in the upper left corner of the display.

I searched on web, found postings elsewhere that it is normal. But I’ve never noticed or seen it before. It ran fine.

Does it mean anything?

The newer Honda displays, starting in 2014, including atvs appear illuminated all the time, regardless if the headlights are on or not.

Previous models were only illuminated if the headlights were switched on.

Everything is fine.

Thanks. I was imagining the oil somehow not reaching the transmission after my oil change. Did not make sense- but the fear was lurking in a corner.
