Hello. New to this forum, but looking for guidance on wheels and tires for a 1000-5. What is the largest wheels and tire size you can run without a lift kit? Thanks for any insights.

28s would be a good choice. I'm running 28x10x14s on stock wheels

I like the look of the fronts better than the back with a little more wheel protection. I also want 28X10X14 but have not decided on wheels yet. Can you get 14" wheels 6" wide?

Tire size is tricky. Because tire sizes are untrue. I found out from this forum about that before researching. I was told with stock suspension you could run 28. If you did A arms they told me 30s but may rub. I went with a arched a arm and a 3” lift and i was able to put 15” wheels and a true 30” tall tire on. No rubbing at all

So the black waters are showing up shorter. Hmm i taped mine and they are 30” tall. Gosh the tire size looks dramatic

30” black waters on 14” wheels are very short!

The company says that it is 30 inches tall at 32 PSI! Of course nobody runs that pressure so at 14 psi under the weight of the machine they are 28 1/2. At 14 psi the Roctane tires are 30 inches tall.

Here’s a link for some more reading after I went through all of this.

I measured my EVOS this morning at15 psi I have 29". I'm not happy. What tire do you recommend that is true 30" ?

You could get the 32” EVOs or 32” Tusk Terrabites. That would be a lighter weight option at 30.5” depending on pressure and vehicle weight.

The Roctanes run true but they are heavy. I like them a lot because of their durability.

The main thing to look for is what the tire manufacturer recommends as the max PSI. Tire diameter is pretty much always specified at max PSI. The Evo’s are 32 psi max which is ridiculous for trail riding. The Roctanes are more like 16 or 18 psi max which means they will be very close to advertised height when you run them at 12 psi. So always look at the Max inflation pressure to know if the tire will be true to its advertised height at a good trail pressure which can vary but typically between eight and 14 psi for our pioneer 1000‘s.

Did you have any trouble putting that wide of tire on the front OEM wheels?

Love it, looks exactly like what I want.

I never ran them with stock shocks. They did rub occasionally and full flex with Fox Shocks. 3-4 times in 1000 miles
