Attempting to install the Honda brand back up alarm. So the Alarm install instruction say that the 2016 Pioneer ALSO requires the 08V71-HL5-A00 accessory wiring harness. But anywhere I go to order it, the message is that it DOESN't fit my 2016 Pioneer 1000.

Anybody done this? Do I actually need yet another part to install this? Pretty pricey for what looks like a cheapo back up alarm. (Also didn't realize I have to remove 4,306 fasteners and bolts to install the 'mount' and alarm, but that's a whole 'nother bucket of fish.) :)

All replies really appreciated! Thanks, gang!

The harness may not fit your 16. It did not fit on my 16. Colors lined up but the connector had changed at some point. It was still helpful but I simply cut up an expensive harness for two wires

I have the 1000-5 2016 model Deluxe and from what I can tell the plug-in is already there just to hook the Beeper up I used mine for backup lights so, I have not done

That is not the correct harness. The harness you need is 08Z02-HL3-A00

Did you put relay in or straight to lights

I went straight to the lights. I bought 3.5" Quadboss lights

I installed the alarm today. Turns out, there was no supplemental harness needed at all (at least on my 2016 1000-3P.)

The harness may be needed if you want to install something additional, maybe backup lights, but to just install the alarm, there was a 2 pin connector with a dummy plug in place - just plugged the alarm into it, works a treat.
