It still runs just like new and nothing broke. I did install the Fox shocks to keep up better with the sport models. I have dibs on the first Sport Model my dealer gets. All 8 of my belt drive models broke a lot plus the belt drive maintenance and repair was annoying to say the least. That was 3 Yamahas, 3 Polaris, and 2 Teryx models. Polaris was by far the worst and I needed 3 to have something to drive. One was waiting on parts and one was getting repaired. There was times 2 were running and I had a choice. Polaris has improved a lot but still has some serious problems on some models.

That is awesome, and one of the reasons I moved to the Pioneer; Longevity.

What kind of use does your Pioneer get? What year is it?

2016 Pioneer 1000-3. Sand wash, truck trail, and rock crawling. I try to stay above 3 mph on most of the rock crawling so I'm off the clutch.

That is awesome! Do you ever shut the darned thing off?? :)

So anything over 3 mph is off the clutch? Is that high or low range?

I think its off the clutch at about 1,800 rpm. That's around 5 mph in high range and 2 1/2 mph in low range. The computer will down shift for you in manual mode at around 2,000 rpm if you forget to downshift. The clutch is so smooth its hard to tell when its in the slipping mode. Two of the guys here were driving in high at 3 to 4 mph while doing some hunting. Both had to have the clutch replaced. The clutch oiling upgrade makes the clutch much more durable. We can think the hard core mudders with large tires for the upgrade.

Is the clutch oiling upgrade done in the new ones?

The reason I ask, is that so far, I’ve been using high range.. it doesn’t feel like it needs low range around my place here.. I figure if it’s shifting, it’s pretty much off the clutch.. yes?

If your staying at 6 mph and above high range is ok. Check the tach and you will find 2nd low is very close to 1st high. It will shift a bit better in high range. I think your slipping the clutch at around 1,800 rpm and below. Its so smooth you can't tell your in the slipping mode. The improved clutch oiling will allow a lot of clutch slipping without overheating the clutch. Some of my friends buy my used side by sides so I make sure they don't get a damaged clutch plus I do a lot of solo rides and need good reliability. I'm too old and too fat to walk very far. On my used belt drive side by sides I make sure the belt drive in in good condition and sometimes I have to install a new belt drive. That's both pulleys and a new factory belt.
