I just bought a 2016 model with low hours that "most likely" spun a bearing. I rebuild diesel truck and heavy equipment engines on a regular basis, but this will be my 1st pioneer. Just looking for pointers to look out for. Also is there any special tooling I will need do do this job? I have 2 triple bay tool boxes full of specialty tool for heavy truck but I know/think theirs got to be something ill need to order for the engine rebuild? I order a new crank last week and it showed up last night. I understand I got to matched the rods with the crank and the case with the crank for my bearings. anything else I should look for or do why I'm in it?

Even a skilled mechanic like yourself might benefit from a copy of the official Honda Pioneer Service Manual.

I hope you'll post photos of the major steps so we can follow your progress. Honda dealers generally won't allow a customer in their shops so few if any of us have ever even seen an engine out of the Piooneers.

Did you put a new clutch in?
The one in the pictures ia fubared.

If you did replace it, then either one of the seals got nicked on the mainshaft or something else is not happy. Check to see if the emergency valve is stuck as well.
