Just picked up a 2016 Honda Pioneer 1000-3 not running. Previous owner went through some deep water or something and got water in the engine. Says he pulled the plugs and that it was turning over etc. It sat at a local dealership for a few months and They told him new motor or rebuild and he opted against fooling with it. It is now not turning over (starter just clicks). Assume it froze up while sitting or it was never really turning over after the water mishap. Any suggestions on what to try? Thought about putting some marvel mystery oil down the spark plugs on top of the pistons etc? Any way to try and turn the motor over by hand?

Have you drained engine/transmission oil? Checked the battery charge? If it was submerged running high RPMS, probably has bent crank rods, wouldn't hurt to put some Marvel oil in the cylinders though? Let us know how it goes, Wish you the best!

Agree on new oil, battery charge etc. Does anybody know if there is a way to try and rotate the engine by hand?

I worked on P1000 that was locked up after being submerged. Found a bent rod on the rear cylinder. The rest of the engine was ok. See attached pictures.

I wouldn’t trust that he pulled the plugs. Don’t try to start again until you do!
