2016 honda pioneer 1000 5

i have 2016 honda pioneer 1000 5 7431 miles 831 hours with shifting problems.
takes off slow in 1st
shifts into 2nd gear fine.
pauses and revs then shifts into 3rd.
shifts into 4 fine
pauses and revs thens shifts into 5th
shifts into 6th fine
same in low or high and auto or manual. what could be wrong.

I'm no expert but sounds like a clutch is going bad. There should be one clutch for gears 1, 3, and 5. Separate clutch for gears 2, 4, 6. I forget which clutch operates reverse. Good luck

16 & 17's had clutch oiling issues, the fix is changing out the housing that has the oil passage in it. Honda had a cough cough recall on it for a while. There is an id on the new housing, I can't remember what it was. It was a hot topic and you should be able to find it in the earlier shop talks here. And yes your # 1 clutch is probably fried. #Cummins-pusher can tell you all about it. Might as well change out both clutches while you're in there. Good luck.

1/3/5 clutch pack going south if not south already

Try the clutch relearn procedure first before changing clutch pack and make sure the update was done - if not - do the clutch cover update when changing clutch pack

Assuming your the original owner? Did u get the clutch update/campaign done when it WAS available?
