So I've got a 2018 pioneer 1000, usually gets driven everyday for 10-15 min . Went to start it up today and it just cranked , never fired up . You can hear the fuel pump turn on , all the dash lights work , even headlights . Temps here are 40-45 during day and 30-35 at night . I've never had an issue getting it started until today. Honda dealer is 2 plus hours away so trying to avoid a trip! Any ideas ??

Air, fuel & spark are what's required for an engine to run. I always break it down to the simple things to start with.

Air? Is the air filter clean, probably but it can be easy to overlook
Fuel? You can hear the pump run, that's good. Is it getting to the injector? Try spraying some carb clean down the throttle and see if it fires.
Spark? You can get a inexpensive spark tester at an auto parts store or use a screw driver in the spark plug cap & have someone crank it over while holding it 1/8" from the frame or engine, you should see a spark.

Could be the injector wire. That's a common issue. They sell replacements in the SXS store on the forum. Check the wires. They tend to break easy.

I have not checked airfilter or sprayed anything in the carb yet or checked the spark plugs. Thats on my list to do tomorrow. I pulled the stock battery and put it on a charger....is it possible the battery doesn't have enough juice to start it but enough to light the dash up and run headlights?

Possible..... See how it does tomorrow and report back, there's lots of helpful people available on the forum.

This crossed my mind as well, that's why I suggested using carb clean in the throttle. If it fires with carb clean it's a fuel issue, just need to do basic troubleshooting to find the system that's causing the problem.

Pull and clean your spark arrestor, it's one possible cause.

There are a few but I don’t remember off hand. I’ll look when I get home.

When I bought it brand new , almost 3 years ago to the day , after 3 days of having it , it would start up but go into limp mode. I took it back to the dealer and after 2 weeks there they found a loose ground. Which after tightening fixed the problem. Which is why I'm skeptical maybe that could be an issue now ?
