Figured I’d drop in with an unusual build - where we ride here in Florida it’s primarily deep water and sloppy peanut butter mud. Had heard about the assassinator tires but didn’t want to go too crazy with portals quite yet.

Put a set of 28x10x14’s on the machine with 3” lift and this is the result.

I really haven’t heard of many people running assassinators on the pioneer 1000 and I haven’t heard any feedback on how it handles them with the stock driveline.

Over-all it spins them in slop with no problem, the only time I’ve ever had the machine bog down was in suction cup mud that was at least 3 feet deep before a hard bottom. Once I let off the gas it just couldn’t get them turning again and had to winch out.

As a trail riding tire they are surprisingly smooth in the dirt and on pavement any speed over 5mph feels like a near stock ride. One thing I should add however, at speeds above 40mph you definitely don’t feel the same level of control as you do with the stock tire set up.

I’ve ordered up a set of arched a-arms front and rear and once I get bored again I’ll be looking at the 4’ GDP portals and a 29.5 assassinator and update this thread when it’s installed.

Well folks, pray for my a-arm tabs. Not sure what happened - started looking at stepping up to a 29.5 for a touch more ground clearance. Suppose 6 inches is 6 inches though...

Running the 6” GDP portals, offset arms and 35’s

FYI for anyone looking to run the STI R4 - at a 35 it measures out to roughly 36.

It looks like it still fits in the garage, but I'll bet it's a tight fit! It looks bad ass!!!!
