P700 2020 700-4 hunting build

I started off wanted to buy a used Pioneer, but after searching far and wide, I really couldn't find one for less than about 10k and those were 14's and higher miles. When I found I could get a 20 for 12k OTD, it just made sense for me.

I know most of these builds have been done as the platform is 6 years old, but hopefully this will give me a place to track progress and get some tips for completing it how I want. Main use of it will be utility/hunting, so that is the purpose of the build. This is my first sxs and I've been very pleased. I had a Honda Rancher 420 that I could not kill, but with now 3 kids, I needed something that could include the family as well. I currently hunt 1800 acres, and my father in laws electric golf cart was being stretched too thin on that much land.

I certainly see the main 2 complaints about the 700. No storage and no top end speed. The top end speed doesn't bother me, but the storage will need to be fixed, as I need a place for straps, rope, machete, flagging tape, etc.

I removed all the safety netting, just seemed to get in the way and I don't need it how the machine will be used. I've added 2 kolpin gun mounts over the driver seat, and just added AES insulation under the drivers seat as well. I still need to add some under the leg panel and then test it out. The sound test doesn't seem to show any difference as both before and after install it was right at 63db. I'm sure it will help with heat though. I also have a ROPS storage back that should be tomorrow. Plan is to hang it facing the bed off the middle ROPS bar to avoid the gun mounts, but still have access to the storage bags.

The 700 will do well for you they are tough and will take a lot with 0 problems. I enjoy mine a great deal.

Roof clamps got in the way a little, but made it work. Now to decide if I want to do the arm guards next or go head with a front bumper/winch. I hunt a lot of cutover with sticks and logs on the ground, so a little worried about the boots.

The main 2 front bumpers I'm looking at is the Honda version or the EMP version. I would prefer to run the winch behind the bumper. Front bumper will probably be used...IE running over brush/small pines. Any advice or real world reviews?

Congrats on the 700 build project! I am looking forward to see how this ends up for you. I have been thinking of replacing my front bumper and what really appeals to me, is the Warn bumper/winch combo. Go to the Warn website and check it out . Welcome aboard from Northeast Texas.

I've looked at the warn ones but between the cost and narrowness of the bumper, not an option. I really want something wide enough to protect the full front.

UPI A Arm Guards. 1/8" Aluminum. Pretty stout feeling. No instructions included. Had to drill 2 holes, so not bad. I'd like the top brackets to be steel instead, but for half the price of other sets, I'm very happy with how they turned out.

As mentioned, I didnt like the top bracket because it bent when tightening down. Using some flat steel, we fabbed some much beefier brackets for the A arm guards. Should be able to just tighten down and forget now.

Top pic is front. Bottom is rear. No drilling on front. You have to drill one hole on each side in the rear for the bolts closest to the wheel.

I pretty much did same as you. 2020 700 2 though. Purchased for 80% hunting and 20% working around the property.

I have 1600 acres of hunting land and the 700 is perfect for all the roads that I had made using 4 wheelers over the years, narrow pig trails I call some of them. The 700 is plenty fast for this type of use, 20-25mph is it for me.

Something else for you to add is a 2nd fuse box, buss bar and battery under the hood. You get all your accessories installed and winch you can need to seperate the buggy power from the accessories power source. I'm in the process of doing that now.

I also added interior lighting. Got stick on led strips off Amazon and used 3m 2 sided tape to secure to underside of my roof.

Drink holders, cheap from wal mart, boating section. Ram Mount phone holder, a must for the cell phone.

Also the best upgrade you can do is the Stark lED head light bulbs. Also you'll need light in the woods, lots of it. I have a front and rear light bar, 4 side pods set at different angles an 2 pods as reverse lights wired to come on when buggy goes in reverse.

Also sidewalk edging for rear fender flares, helps knock down the mud.

For storage I added a tool box from tractor supply. They have a smaller one that might work for the 4 seater.

What did the bulbs take to install? I've gone back and forth on a 2nd battery because I really only want to run back up lights, light bar and a winch.

Lights are pretty much plug and play.

2nd battery can be a life saver if ever your main goes down. Install a switch and crank off it if man is low on power.

I'll have to look into those. I know most people said the LED's looked whiter but weren't much brighter than stock. From your pics, those look super bright though.

I agree on the Stark LED lights. Plug and play and much brighter than the stock yellow halogens.
