At 36 horsepower and 1400 lbs they are not rocket ships.
Mods that actually do anything are few and far between.
We run a 2019 700-4 with 27s all the way around and for our type of riding there is no noticeable difference.
Thick gooey gumbo type mud is gonna hurt you more than swampy watery mud for sure.
What tires are you running? Weight is a huge factor when running tires.
About the only option you might have for a decent difference is portals.
Just know that with portals and 27s your top speed will suffer.

Agree I run 27s but they are not heavy and no noticeable power loss

So there is a huge discrepancy in power loss with bigger tiers. The low lands vs the mountains.
I had little problem with 27" below 5000 feet from 5k to 6k it did ok but power loss was noticeable at 6500 ft it was a total POS. I've done or tried almost every type of wiz- bang BS out there nothing works enough to justify the cost. Except as Glock21user stated portals and yep they work and are bad ass but as he also stated you suffer top end. You will also be running 8" wider so your trail width could be an issue. I'm running 30% gear reduction and 14" x 28" and top end is 35 mph.
If you want to run big tiers at elevation its going to cost you $$$$ personally if I was at ground zero again I would stay on 25" and just lift the hell out of it. I did read some place that the secret formula was for every 2" up you needed 1" wider to maintain stability??
I was given the advice to just jump ship and go get the 1k I didn't listen and probably should have. But I did have a ton of fun doing the build frustrating at times but fun and the rig is 100% me. I need to post picks one of these days.

The P500 also has less weight (less power) and a 5 speed trans which helps a lot.
Get a P1K is your next option or love the machine you have like the rest of us.
The 700 is reliable as anything out without a lot of headache, but definitely has a few short comings.

You can check for issues with the machine, but at this point, the tendencies of the 700 w/big heavy tires or altitude are no mystery. Trade it for a 1000.

@Bambislayer these two guys are seasoned P700 owners. They give sound advice.

I was concerned with the stock power on the 2021 700-4 I just bought as well. Pretty underwhelming. I know it’s not meant for speed and that’s not why I bought the 700-4 but it bogs pretty bad on sort of steep hills at 35 mph cruising speed with only me and my wife. I have 27” tires on the way so that won’t help but I also have aluminum 12” wheels coming with the tires to reduce weight over the factory steel rims.

I removed the spark arrestor and installed a K&N air filter yesterday. It definitely has better hill speed now (with factory 25” tires on it still). A little more torque for sure. The factory air filter is so restrictive it’s crazy. Same with the exhaust tip and spark arrestor. Almost like Honda soaked the intake filter media in a bucket of thick grease. It was nasty just handling it during removal. Although it’s noticeably better with the K&N, I know that with engines, any intake or exhaust upgrades really can’t deliver the full potential without adjusting timing and fuel delivery. So I just ordered the Dynojet PV3 tuner to dial it all in. Will also be upgrading to Iridium plugs to ensure good ignition.

Might do a snorkel upgrade as well at some point but I don’t think that would help performance as the factory intake pipe is already pretty wide open and pulling cold air from outside the engine compartment.

What filter did you use, I was reading and found out the tye 2020 and 2021 700p has a different size filter?
I agree with @DG Rider that they are the same part number.
Honda hasn't changed much on these since they came out.

I put 27inch Wanda mud lug tires with the factory aluminum wheels. And 2inch spring spacers. I've had no issues and have noticed no power loss and can mud with the best of them! A work buddy I ride with has a 1000 with 30inch tires and I go everywhere he does with no problems. ( We ride the mountains of Arkansas with lots of hills, mud holes, and creeks )

I have 2021 with 27" tires off P1000 I see no power loss at 500ft to 9000ft I run with 500lbs in the bed and tow a trailer weighing 1500lbs. when camping.

Check the valves my after break in they where way out of spec. also delete the cat a new muffler is about $400. I also mud in mine and can spin all four tires all the time.

Did you notice your valves being noisy or hard starting the 700?

No noise but they were over twice the tolerance for both intake and exhaust. The hardest part to checking them is the seat cover clips after it is off it takes about 10 min to check and adjust.

I was wondering if anyone has tried any tuning, like remapping for their machine after putting 27's on? I have a 2021 700-4 deluxe. Thinking about bigger tires but only to try to get it to 50 mph. My cousin owns a cycle shop and nearly doubled the hp on his 2020 KTM 350. Going on a Hatfield and McCoy trip with him in 3 weeks. I'll see what he says about my new ride. But would love to hear if anybody has tried anything yet to help me get started.
