I just saw from a guy called Mud Puppy that the 2022 Honda pioneer 1000 is coming with a lot of transmission parts from the Honda Talon the big one is the reverse gear that the Talon uses it’s going to be in the pioneer and some other upgrades Honda has set a release date on all the information sometime in March

Several have already been installed the Talon reverse.
Also, there are a 2 updated transmission parts that should be installed as well.
Lots of part # changes, but its hard to tell what is an actual product improvement vs just a new manufacture.
Part #'s are linked to the actual manufacture.

Does the Talon reverse gear provide an advantage or correct some problem when installed in the Pioneer?

From I what I read the Talon reverse is suppose to a lower gear than the reverse gear that the pioneer has so that would keep from burning up the clutch’s and I am sure there is some other benefits having the Talon reserve gear

Thanks.

That makes sense. Reversed with a lower gear ratio would make starting a load backing up a grade or with a loaded trailer easier on the clutches.

It would be helpful to have a low 1st and reverse gear. I have a military Oshkosh MK23 MTVR and it has an Allison 7 speed transmission that always starts in 2nd gear by design, unless you manually select 1st. I would like to see a high / overdrive 6th gear as well. I've even considered installing an aftermarket OD, but don't really know where to look for a small one that could be adapted.

Will the dealer install these parts for you if you take it to them or what I don’t have any problems with mine just thinking about upgrading

I think that depends entirely on your dealer and how up to date they are on things. If they don't know what you're talking about and they're willing to read the two threads, they'll have a better idea of what you're asking them to do.
