Hey All -

@Remington suggested looking at aftermarket bumpers that have winch mounts.
Searching on here comes up with far too many threads to go through.

However, I did stumble across Strong Made.

Does anyone have this? Or know if this will work with the 2023?
This checks all the boxes...though its really expensive for what a $60 mount should do.
But I kind of like the idea of the winch being on top to service it should any issues arise.

Thanks!

The top mount bumper may not be the strongest, but damn handy when pulling a line in the mud and when cleaning or servicing the winch.

I have a Strong Made on my p5. They are very well built and give great protection as well as winch and lighting mounting possibilities. Just my two cents 🤔

From what I can tell via part numbers, the bumper did not change up to 2022. I suspect 2023 is the same here and it should work.
But should wait to hear from the company, maybe something is different.

Spoke with Strong Made. They said it will fit the 2023 bumper.
$450 is a hard pill to swallow though!

Gonna wait until I hear back from Motoalliance, see if they can do something for me.

I will never have another behind the bumper winch.

I also like the idea of the winch being higher but also means it’s right in the elements. But should be able to handle it I would think.

Winch mounting locations Pro's and Con's

Low mount- if you are by your self you will be pulling at a up angle-Good and there usually caked in mud, Can't see how the cable is being wound on to the spool and hard to clean-Bad

High mount- up angle won't be as good- Bad. Everything else is- Good

And all winches are held on by bolts.

Thanks. Yeah, I do have some concerns about strength here with the top mounts. You are relying heavily on those bolts!
A 1/2-13 grade 5 bolt has a clamping load of roughly 9000lbs....not saying that they wont shear, but they are pretty strong....I used 1/2 -13 just as an example....If you ever notice the size of bolts on freeway overpasses, they really are not that big..not trying to be a smartass , just sayin is all
