I am looking at getting a set of DOT tires for the pioneer. Was wanting to know if I can fit the 28x10-14 under the stock ride height without modifications other than wheel spacers. Also wondering if I should go with the 5+2 or 4+3 offset. Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, either offset will work. 5+2 is the more common I would say 👍

I recently installed a set of four 28 x 10 x 14 Tensor Regulators on Honda LE wheels with 1" spacers at the rear on a 2021 Pioneer 1000-3 base model. Tires do not contact anything but the road surface. I'm completely satisfied with the tires and wheels. Comparing the noise level to the oem tires these Tensors are silent.

Would like a little wider stance, 5+2 wheels and a 1" spacer in the rear or should I go with the 4+3 and a different spacer?

1-1/2 rear, 1 in the front to fix the crosseyed look. I have had this set up for 3 yrs with LT DOT’s same tire size all the way around

Use this with the 4+3 or 5+2? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to make it right the first time so I can "deposit" more money into the dual battery set up and other accessories account.

Id get your accessories and dual battery stuff first then see where your at if it were me. Tires get changed more often then most accessories.

I love the look of your machine. Did you remove the side colored plastic and if so how did you cover up the Threaded holes?

If you guys are just going for looks all is fine but if you are using the 1000 as a work machine according to the Rep in our State do not use spacers as it will result in wear out CV joints and struts heedlessly.

Battery Power for winching, plowing heavy snow etc. forget those little motorcycle batteries. Keep the original if still good and get a boat battery box bolt it down and foam it in the compartment under the driver seat. Drop in the biggest CCA amp auto battery that will fit the opening (550-750 CCA). No need for fancy guages just watch your volt meter and try not to let it run below 12.4 volts very long. I have been running this system for 4 yrs. with no problems. The stock alternator will bring them back up quickly if the go to a lower voltage.

I just installed some system three wheels 5x2 offset with efx motoclaw 28x10x14 all the way around. . I used 1 in spacer in the rear. No problems on fit. They are Dot and the ride so far is way better than the factory. Using the 5x2 will make your stance 2 inch wider. Mine was 63 inch wide with factory and now with new wheels it is 65.

Old School,

I respectfully disagree. Unless you are using the second, high CCA battery, as your primary "starting" battery, "bigger CCA" is seldom the optimal choice. Auto starting batteries are typically rated in CCA, "cold cranking amps" where high amp output is had by using thin battery plates to maximize surface area. This is a trade-off, powerful yes, but the battery is designed to output this high power for 15 seconds to start a car engine at about zero F.

Many want their AUX battery to deliver more moderate power output for longer periods. Operating a winch or accessories, even with engine off, is where the deep cycle or storage battery, with its thicker plates, shines. The storage battery will be rated in amp hour (AH) capacity. This battery is better for arduous winch pulls and longer periods operating accessories with or without the engine running.

This is not to say one can't swap one battery type for the other or ignore all of the above, but for optimum performance and long life . . . each battery type is engineered for a purpose.

Finally got them installed. 28x10-14 Tusk terrabites with 1 inch spacer on the rear. Took a test run and the sound difference is unreal. Very quiet compared to the stock bighorns. Will try them out in the mud and snow for hunting season soon.

So the reason for wheel spacer in the rear is to make same width as front? Right? When running same wheels tires on all 4 corners

One of the cleanest and most concise explanations of the difference between a deep-cycle battery vs a "starting" battery I've read. Great job, @bumperm !

Nice looking setup!

Those must be the ST-3 non-beadlocks? The SB-4 beadlock only comes in 6+1 or 4+3.
