My wife and boys got me a 52" 700 watt curved led bar for my pioneer 1000 and I'm a little confused on if I should run it on there or not. I read some threads about dual battery setups and it would appear that's almost a must but my main question is with dual battery setup will it keep up with it. I already have a couple of cubes on it, will be putting a small single row for back lighting. I have my winch wired into the main battery now. Can someone point me in the right direction?

700 watts pulls about 58 amps. That's way too much for these machines. I'd either return it and buy one that draws less amps, or put it on my tow vehicle ;-)

what AK said 100%. Stay around 3-400 range. even dual battery you'd only be able to run short periods if even

I don't know what the charging amps on the 1000, but the 700 is only 600. So you could probably run it for about 15 minutes. Thats with the machine running and 4/0 cables. Just joking. It would be pretty cool to see on, but not in person.

The light I bought and installed is a 52" 700 watt light bar, or that's what it was advertised. It came with a 35 amp fuse and a 40 or 45 amp relay. I have no issues running on my bike with the dual battery set up. When the light is on the voltage drops from 14.2 to 13.7.

That's only a 420 watt fuse so it's probably 400 watt

be curious as to what fuse they sold with that... I have, supposedly, a 500 watt 52"... but i doubt very seriously, if it puts out anywhere near that. i love it... don't get me wrong, but most all of these lights are chinese made, and they are extremely loose with "facts"... i'd be shocked if Your light is anywhere near 700 watt, unless it cost about $2000. i suspect You will be able to use it just fine... but just guessing.. I have 2 batteries... the "500" watt LED doesn't draw near the power off the battery as my Halagen foglights do.....

They have true 7-10W bulbs on the Chinese units that are capable of over 700 W. you've got to check and see what bold they have and then cross reference that pulled over and you get a pretty good idea of what that light actually is. I had a true 700 W osram and it was stupid

I'm not doubting that... Mine reportedly have 5 watt CREE (x100) with 5D projector lenses.... i'm just saying... when actually hooked up (and I shortened the wires and went straight to the battery so wires wouldn't lower output) while they are crazy bright... they do NOT pull that kind of actual wattage... and with the manufacturer including a 35 amp fuse... tells me the manufacturer is well aware it doesn't... What kind of fuse is on your unit?

volts (12) x amps = wattage. so when a manufacturer starts talking about 500 watts.... and then the wiring is small, and a 35 amp fuse is included (and of course, never burns out).... lets you know the manufacturer is aware that 12 x 35 = 420 watts - which is where it would BURN out the fuse... so usually there is quite a bit of "safety factor" built in.. my guess is my unit isn't putting out more than 300 watts... still crazy bright... but these numbers they try to sell you on, are mostly BS.....

Mines a 360 and it's got a 35 amp fuse. Any less fuse and that blows em. That's an ok way to find out how much juice it uses
And you are right about that.

Looks like you guys need to go out in the shop and get your multi meters and check amp draw on these devices. I can check the ones I have probably tomorrow. That way I can tell you if the brand that I use is true to their advertisement. I've got Mictuning and something else.

Well I solved the problem of having enough power. With all lights on including headlights at idle holds around 13.8 volts. It was pretty easy to wire in. I simplified the grounding with a 6 place ground bus.

I had to use the black wire for positive and red for negative as the black was too short

I measured 2 of my bars and they measure just over half of what was advertised. Those numbers are peak measurements. I would be very interested hearing mictunings measurements. Eyourlife is a bummer. I havent measured my auxbeam. Maybe that's what I'll be doing tomorrow

Your probably right. I do know this though when I wired it in without the second battery it definitely had significant draw enough to tell at idle with the machine running
