So it seems to be when the 700 is warmed up/hot. The temp gauge stays at 2 bars but after driving a while or working, it is shutting off on me. It will start right back up, but it will shut off again shortly after. Seems to go further in between shut offs at WOT. I tried babying it and was only getting 20-30 yards. I shut it off for 30-45 mins and it drove fine for a while before having the issues again. Seems to not have the issue when it's cooler. It will not shut off at idle.

It Christmas trees and them just goes back to normal. Honda handbook seems to suggest fuel filter. Mine is a 2020.

If the display is acting like it does when you cut the key on...then maybe the switch or wiring somewhere. Check the battery cables and grounds as well. I don't know if it goes through a relay, but that could be suspect as well.

I agree DG. It sounds like an electrical connection or issue.

Is there a wiring schematic available for me to diagnose?

This is through 2019. That manual is available here for supporting members.

Old thread but good news! I did not figure out why it was shutting off, but I did fix it. I removed my aftermarket under seat insulation. Then went to Durahmtown in GA and drove the ever loving piss out of my 700 for 5 hours. It never cut off.

I replaced my ignition switch and have gone 2 rides now without issue, so I will cautiously say it's fixed.

The other area are those grounds behind the gas tank. Without those, it won't even cut on.

Glad you got it worked out! I drove mine as hard as I ever have without the insulation and didn't cut off at all. I can't tell you why, just glad it seems to be fixed.

Was it between the seat and the ECM? Some have speculated that the ECM getting too hot is causing it as well.

Yup. My dumb self put 2 layers instead of 1 cause more is better right? Then I put aluminum skid plates so I basically created a heat box. Skid plates are still on. Heat escaping from the seats made all the difference.

I lied apparently. Even though it didn't happen riding it super hard, it did happen at the hunting club yesterday. Back to the drawing board.

I've now done 4 rides (approx 230 miles) with no issue. If those grounds and cables are tight, you might take a flyer with the ignition switch. It's only like $60 and super easy to change. And it seems to be an issue lately...
