A different question on storage - Besides the cargo area what are you doing for storage?

Anyone got some good ideas for storage besides the cargo area?? Looking for ideas for some of the things I will keep with me all the time without it hogging the cargo area where I want to put trip specific stuff (e.g. tent, sleeping bags, larger cooler, gas cans (until I buy some of those Rotopax cans).

I'd look into a hitch mount cargo basket if you want to carry that much stuff. I'm not sure one is made for the Talon yet.

Also could consider a roof rack but I think you would have to fabricate that yourself.

This weekend I noticed my stock rear tender springs are completely sacked out with no weight in the bed. Impatiently for Bandit to get more kits in stock....lol They should have stock in a couple of weeks.

The modded Harbor freight cargo rack has worked perfectly for us so far. Like it much better once I narrowed it to fit the cooler even though it was ok in the original width.

One advantage to our setup is the HMF rear bumper with the integrated hitch. HMF has the hitch mounted much higher than those mounted at the radius arm bolts. Give 20" clearance on the rack.

Thought of the hitch rack, looks like their's has a raise to it, the one I already have does not and I thought I it would hit the ground in places, I will take a look at it

JEI rack, 6 gal gas, 1 gal water, and the orange container is a hinged box with first aid and other safety gear inside. My heavy recovery gear is in a 15l dry sack, on the passenger floorboards since I usually ride alone.

Definitely an advantage to the HF ATV rack. It does have an up turn. I also had it coated with bed liner after I narrowed it.

How much stuff are you talking about? There is an under hood storage box that I installed that I put my jack, recovery strap, jumper cables, tools and some other miscellaneous stuff in. Not real big but it does store that stuff you hope you never need...
