Hey guys, I finally got my light bar installed today. I ordered the accessory harness from the SXS Store and installed it. All was well until about after 5 min, the light bar blew the 10A rise. Is this normal? I noticed the gauge on the accessory wire was a bit on the small size. Do I need to change the fuse from a 10a to something else?

Hi.
Need some more info.

What size light bar, brand, and specs. Do you have a link to it?

Second. Are you using it to directly power the light bar or are you using it as a relay trigger?

Thanks.

Relay use will not blow a fuse unless something is wrong.

Did you buy a premade relay harness or wire it up yourself?

It was a pre made harness that was purchased. Is the fuse suppose to be 10A or 15A?

Not sure. But a common relay only pulls a few MA's. If it caused the blow there are other issues.
How/Where did you connect the relay to the battery?

As for the harness. These have been mass-produced since December. I have had no defects on the current batch outside of installer errors.
Still, there is always a possibility of a defect.

I’ll take some photos for you tomorrow and post them up. No worries, I’m new at this and it’s quite possible something is wrong, somewhere along the way with my wiring.

That may help. I feel like something is crossed.

By the way the red lead is 16g TXL wire.

The specs on your lightbar say 195 watts /12 volts = 16.5 amps.
You need a 20 amp circuit.
