You only need to remover the inner panel to install the snorkel parts. The hole size is a 3 inch hole. It takes 3 hours to make the snorkel after you have done one. The 2 inch hanger clamp is from Rocky Mountain.

Yea I get what you're saying. The UNI was dirty but had no loss of power. I don't consider this a permanent solution, just a quick fix until you get a snorkel or PS. Did the 1k with no problem-might stretch to 2k.
For reference, this is my external Uni at 1066 miles, living behind the passenger seat. It was really dirty but not clogged. I think a lot of guys clean their filters too often, check out some of the Baja foam filters for examples of the extreme conditions a foam filter can operate effectively in.

He did initially Monte but at the end said that he is going to move it outside for convenience of cleaning. That is the setup that I am going with
Ah, got ya. Thank you for that....😊

@hondabob where did you get the angle plastic tube at the top end (clamped to the ROPS), the one you connect the filter to? If it's easily sourced (like the Teryx tube), it's probably less expensive than the NAPA 8907 turbo hose for a 90* bend (maybe not really 90*).

With the UNI. Inside the airbox.
Are yall just playing the game of "out of sight out of mind" or do you actually change/wash the UNI every 100 miles?

You can cleary see the dust caked inside the intake tube. The inside of the UNI would be the same.
I have a very scientific method. When my buddy with a KRX can beat me (on 32’s) in a drag race the filter is dirty and needs cleaning

cid I had the tube in my junk box. The auto guys have the 3 inch tube available for the under hood car intakes. One of the guys bought a few 3 inch tubes like the 90 degree I used and they have the connecting tube too.

Finally finished my air intake redo
Image001

kidding
got the warrior snorkel kit free from a friend who went to a PS
used the pipe assy going out the fender and added my uni filter

I just thought going thru the fender was less destructive than cutting thru where Hondabob did.
From here I can relocate higher or 90 it under the roof if I decide
(by the way-whoever designed the Honda air intake had to be on crack or using alien technology)
