After loosing my 1 ton 4runner on 40" tires in the fire in 2018 I had to get another toy to go play in the snow. A few of my buddies have rzr's with tracks, but I've never been a big Polaris fan. So after some research, I picked up a talon and some tracks :D

Last night was the first trip on the tracks, man it's a blast. You can go places that guys even on huge 54s can't dream of.

I will say the trans isn't super happy in the snow in auto or sport mode. It likes to jump back and forth between gears. I found using manual mode when really mashing worked better. I haven't got to ride in another rig yet, but I do wonder if the cvt may have a slight advantage here. It's what's snow mobiles use after all. Either way, it's an all season machine for us, so I'm still glad I went honda, I didn't want a rubber band trans.

Can you go in any snow with these? I was thinking of a set for my P1k

Basically yes. It is definitely still possible to get stuck. If you're spinning and not moving, you'll burry yourself quick since you have so much surface area on the ground.

For deep snow, there is no comparison, even to the guys running wide 35-37" tires on rzr's.

do it.throw a small plastic snow shovel in the back and you can go anywhere.fyi, the camso tracks are 4 season tracks, not as tall of a lug but they do the job.

Can you share details on what tracks you’re running? Are driving in low range? How is gearing compared to stock tires?

Camso brand tracks. A few of my buddies have ran them on rzr's with a few issues. The main one being the rollers coming apart. They have issued a recall since that, so hopefully mine should be good. They also have broken some of the anti rotation parts, not the end of the word. I plan to carry spaces and possibly upgrade in the future.

Mattracks was another option, the ez line, is comparable price wise, but a stupid design with its outside ideler. They have other lines, but they are pushing $10k a set.

I originally wanted to retrofit can am's apache back country tracks, but they are designed only for deep snow, and will overheat on hard surfaces.

Low range is nice for certain instances, but for the most part, you can use high. The gearing is basically like running a 12" tire. So speed is cut just about in half.

I have a 16 P1k on tracks. I also installed a healtech box to fix speedo. The rear anti rotation is a joke. I welded a mount onto the adapter that turned hiem 90° haven’t broke one since. It is rougher ride on hard trails. Unlike the ranger ( bushings/bearings once a year) I have had no major wear, I do suggest caring a torque wrench to make sure lugs stay tight

Nice.

You have anymore info on the healtech box?

I agree the mounts leave something to be desired. My rears have the bolt horizontal, but still in single shear. The drivers bracket is bent after 1 run. Luckily I can beef that stuff up easily myself. I may look into bigger hiems also, the ones they use are pretty lame.

Not the best pictures, but that's what I have right now. I like the way they mount to the machine, just not the cheasy single shear tab.
