P1000 Axle build list & How-To

I was ordering spare axles to keep around incase I ride with @Eltobgi again! I though this would be a good time to share the part numbers with you guys because its easy to forget a small snap ring.

It is my experience that tells me that you can swap the two front axles as they are they same even though they have different part numbers. the two rear axles however will not swap and they are not a swap for the front. also of the parts are interchangeable but not the complete axle. also, the front inboard CVs are not the same as the rear inboard CVs. the rear set is shorter.

I am currently carrying one spare axle for the front that will work for both sides. currently I only have spent the money on one rear axle but will probably soon order another which will be the last one. I keep these in my truck when riding so they are at least close.

Right Rear:

Shaft Set: 42250-HL4-A01 $180
Inboard joint: 42220-HL4-A01 $120

One more note, you guys may be thinking why order the "boot set". well, it comes with the grease, boot, bands, circlip, and snap ring. still over priced but you'd have to source these parts individually if you purchased the "all balls" boot.

Here's a rear axle next to the front axle. You can see the right rear axle is shorter than the front axles.

All good info above but keep in mind you'll need a special set of pliers to install the boot clips. They take some effort to get them installed correctly.

I have not found axles complete and ready to go yet. I assume that the aftermarket will show up soon with some. I hope they do because the OEM is expensive.

All good info above but keep in mind you'll need a special set of pliers to install the boot clips. They take some effort to get them installed correctly.

Trying to get by as cheap as possible! Lol. Not a bad price compared to Pure Honda where they were quoting $240 plus tax!
