Ok I just bought 2016 Pioneer 1000.

It has light bar under roof at top but it’s a spot only light. I have a new bar that has spot and floods on it so I will be swapping them out soon. Do most people prefer them up under roof or on hood? I have solid windshield ordered so tilt up or down isn’t an issue.

It has Power Bass sound bar mounted under roof between front and rear seats. Was thinking about relocating and possibly adding a powered sub somewhere for low end because the bar sounds great but has absolutely no low end. Is there a better location you guys have found for bar and any possible locations for powered sub?

Last thing is I usually build golf carts and I typically like to add fuse block and Optima deep cycle battery for accessories. Has anyone done a full size batt under hood? Haven’t taken it apart to see if there’s room there or not.

Thanks for any and all input

Any pics of the sub setup. Sounds like what I’d like to do. Thanks
Only two pics I have, I have had to spray the mud off of it a couple times and it still works fine a year later

The 2nd pic is with the side take off so that I could slide it in.

Looks great but I have a 12yr old daughter that will be riding in the middle and surely that would be a problem.
That is why I placed mine under the seat.. when my son and wife both ride .

Has anyone went the lithium battery route? I use Lipo batts in rc’s I build so I’m familiar with them. EarthX makes one that will fit in stock location with a ridiculous capacity

I wonder if they will warranty it for a decent period of time?

A while back I called two lithium battery suppliers and told them about my needs in the P1000 and neither would provide any warranty and didn’t recommend it.

Two year replacement not pro rated and they do say it’s good for the Honda Pioneer 1000. Not sure if I’d go with that largest lithium, a smaller one or just an Optima AGM under the seat. Need to take my Pioneer apart and look at room available and figure out my electrical needs. We just got it so want to take it out for decent ride to see what we want added. We have always ran an electric golf cart for neighborhood riding and this is our first UTV so have to figure it all out

My oem starter battery lasted a couple years but the odyssey auxiliary battery I have had since January 2016. They would break my heart to spend that much money on a battery and it fail just outside of the warranty. I would be tempted if they would cover us for a little bit longer.

I agree 100%. Still weighing my options

Lithium technology is fantastic and I would love to have a couple lithium batteries for their better performance. I imagine that the winch would pull stronger if those batteries could deliver more current without as much voltage drop. Maybe in another year or two the price will be much more competitive. Just a few years ago we weren’t even talking about stuff like this for a UTV

I would confirm how many amps this battery can be charged off our system. Right on top it lists a charging rate of 10a at 15v.
I don't recall the output of the 1000 charging system off the top of my head, But I want to say it is somewhere near mid 40 amps.

All good points for batteries.

Side note, I got my tag added last night so it’s already looking better. Windshield should be here Monday but we are taking it out tomorrow for our maiden ride.

Took for ride tonight after work just around some dirt roads. Rides great but really need that full windshield. Also the soundbar has good sound but it’s blaring in back of front seat people’s ears and the people in rear can’t hear it. Not sure if relocating is an option because it seems wherever it’s at it will be much louder to either front or rear seats. It’s mounted in middle now towards back of heads in front seat. May have to scrap the bar all together and go separate components to get an even sound quality.

Pioneer has plenty of power for sure but we didn’t find any mud tonight, maybe tomorrow

Got windshield in and installed. Love the windshield but having to rework snorkel, lightbar, wiring and vent tubes. Snorkel can’t push to front of bar anymore because of windshield so now it blocks the grab handle. The lightbar was angled forward and now with brackets straight down it seems too low so I need shorter brackets.

Got snorkel and wires back in last night so can ride this weekend but I’m not happy with it. Will be redoing snorkel when I find one I like. Had to remove light bar for now and have new mounts ordered for it but won’t be here until Monday. Also new dual batt setup and rear bumper ordered
