If plowing snow with 700-4, using a winch, headlights and a led flashing light do I need dual battery setup

No, I plow using my winch 50" front light bar, and 2 rear LED lights all on the factory battery. I have a 2014 700-4 and am still on the original battery. No problems

Thank you, I am going to use a 60 inch plow. Do you find your self packing down a lot of snow with a 50 inch plow?

The battery box can be "opened" up to fit a YTX 20 which is what Honda should have put in them. The YTX 14 is really to small / weak.

just have to charge it when you are done, the winch is going to draw more than the stator puts out, thats what matters. constant discharged state ruins batteries. i have the ctech 4.3, you can use it on cars or quads whatever and you get what you pay for in a charger the cheap ones ruin batteries too

  3. Do not currently own
I would only add a quality battery tender, so when the unit is not in use, the battery will be topped off and ready.....

I run a 60" plow, heater, radio, windshield wiper, 36" light bar. My battery tender I purchased right after getting my 700-4 would charge it up, but then once battery went low again it would not charge up stock battery. I took my unit over to a friend that works on Polaris units but owns two Honda ATV's said I should invest in a better battery plus a better tender. He said when I'm not using my unit I should always have it on a tender which will result in longer battery life like years not one or two years. No problem so far.

I had all sorts of issues (with a new machine) under 10 miles on the odo with starting in cold temps-- keep it plugged in 'trickle charger-(waterproof one) its not a dream tp start in any climate.

I have a 11 yr old HONDA EU6500 generator on a solar trickle charger-- original battery fires right up.

I bought an odyssey recently and was wondering what you had to do to "open" it up exactly?
