I just unpacked my exhaust for my Pioneer 700 from Big Gun Inc. After reading the instructions I guess I'll send it back, It says I must remap my fuel controller and that I need to repack the muffler every 15 hrs. They don't have a product for remapping for Honda and I'm not going to repack a muffler every weekend. What are they thinking? I'm open for suggestions and comments. I've e-mailed Big Gun Inc. and I'm waiting for a reply. If I had know this up front I wouldn't have ordered it in the first place.

Re: Gig Gun Exhaust for 700

I got a response from Big Gun. They said they are working on developing a controller for the Honda 700 but it's not available yet. They suggested buying one from another manufacture. I can't find any with good reviews, so I think that's out. I think the factory controller may compensate for the changes, but that's a big gamble. They said they do offer a packing material that's good for 50 hrs. They also said I could return it if I wanted to. So at least they are willing to offer advice and help or take it back. I guess I'll talk to the Honda mechanic first before I return it , to see what he thinks.

Lynn. Who in there right mind is going to repack it every 15 hours... Outside a pro racer. I doubt many ever repack there's or even realize they need to... I know I wouldn't be doing it.

dobeck profomance has a controller for the pioneer. its not on there sight yet. call them and ask for mat he will hook you up.
you only need to repack it if you want to keep it quiet. lol if your going to open up the exhaust you should probably put in k&n intake filter to get the most you can out of it. you will need to clean that every 15 hours.

Re: Gig Gun Exhaust for 700

Well here's some good news the factory controller is adjustable for fuel and timing just take it to my dealer and they will adjust it . Sweet!!! the other news the Honda mechanic said it more than likely won't need adjustment as the factory controller (ECU) will more than likely be able to compensate for the free flowing aftermarket exhaust just as it did for the K&N filter, modified intake and the blower motor. I will know tomorrow as I'll go test it and check the spark plug color. I will make an entry on my supercharger post soon with the total acceleration gain with all my modifications. I'm thrilled that I don't have to buy a controller to change things if I need too. Honda has the tool to change the settings on the factory controller. This was news to me me.

HMF exhaust is awesome and gains 10% more horsepower, sounds awesome and no optimizer required.

Tested today worked flawlessly, no remapping required Honda's ECU compensated for all my modifications. See my post under Honda Pioneer 700 supercharged to get all the details. Sounds like nobody repacks these aftermarket mufflers unless they get to loud which takes a long time under normal use. The sound and throttle response is outstanding for sure.

$339 for the EVO series and $399 for the EXO. which according to big guns website the EXO is quieter. Not sure which one I will go with. Lynn is it possible for you to post a video of the exhaust sound?

Here's a 5 " vortex insert for Big Gun Exhaust that's suppose to be quieter than the 2" open ended vortex that comes with Exhaust. It's listed on Big Gun's web site.

Here's a short video of my Big Gun Exhaust with the short (2") vortex installed. They make a 5" closed end vortex which is quieter. Click on u-tube link above to watch.
