If it works good, You will see a slight power increase. And more if you install a good filter and muffler.
Otherwise, It just burns more fuel.

no, it will not. but it will help you get there faster.

What it does is control the injector to deliver more fuel at the right times. This will allow for power during those times. For example, a quicker take off. Stronger push up hills.....
Fuel millage will drop. A "balls to the wall" guy, could see it cut in 1/2.

Yes, It is the factory exhaust that is the issue. If you replace it with a aftermarket you removed the problem.

So the new HMF will be a whole exhaust from the header back? It was my understanding that the part that is malfunctioning is further up into the exhaust system in a secondary baffle. One that wouldn't be replaced if the aftermarket muffler was just a bolt on using the existing mid pipe. I haven't looked at my exhaust that close to see if the stock can even separates from the stock exhaust.

Mid pipe is fine. Its the actual baffles inside the muffler coming loose from a crappy weld job.
There is like 5 or 6 of them from what little I know about this muffler. maybe more/less.
One will break loose and stop up the next baffle's exhaust hole creating more back pressure then the motor can handle. Thus slowing it down.
Yes, it does separate mid ways down.

Yeah Im thinking its going to be a future purchase for this guy. I just like how quiet the exhaust is now, never thought id say that after years of straight piping everything i own and running 5 inch on the duramax lol
