What have you guys done? I just went for a ride in the snow. We have around ten inches sitting outside and once I started mashing the steam just rolls in and fogs over my window, then it cools down when I stop and it freezes. What in the world have you guys done?

I just saw someone said the 2017 got a gasket? Can I retrofit that?

Joey, you wrapped your exhaust correct? Does it stink or is there any negatives? I bought some and never did it because I was kind of waiting for Honda to do something. I don't think they will.

Need some suggestions.

There are anti fog products that can be applied to the windshield that may help, but I would think the steam is from snow hitting the radiator and would look at plastic flaps under the dash to minimize the impact of steam entering cab. Or...pull the windshield and wear a helmet and enjoy. Good luck!

In Alabama we don't have those same kind of conditions. But I can tell you that I did not wrap my exhaust. I did use a bilge fan which greatly helped steam when hitting water.

I would start with that.

I've had more problems than 90% of people on this forum, my rig has been in the shop for over 5 months of the 10 months I've owned it. I have under 400 miles and I missed almost the whole summer with my machine in the shop. I'm sure I've b****ed a few times. I wonder why. But don't paint me as one of these clowns that just bad mouths Honda. I've been fair, and I've changed my tune over the last few months since I finally got my rig back. Hard to feel good about a 20k toy that you don't even have at your house.

I think it's fair I get to ask what people are doing for the steam problem. The steam is a problem that is recognized by many members of this forum, and if there is a solution it would be nice to know. I offered up several ideas that I haven't heard many people talk about. I thought about buying pipe insulation and riveting it to the back of the seat so when you close the bed it punches and seals. Boom, nobody else brought that up.

If you don't like it, feel free to move along. There's lots of other threads for you to read.

Also nothing about this post was b****ing. It was constructive and I was trying to bring something to the table. The forum has slowed since winter, and we are all waiting on Cumminspusher to get his Fox shocks on. Figured I'd post something to bide the time. The only negative comment in this thread was yours.

I took a video with my action cam ripping through a foot of snow and I was just uploading to google. I was actually excited to get out and use my machine that has been sitting in the shop. This was the first time I've drove it in 2 months. Ive spent the last week installing lights and doing wiring. If I didn't like the machine I wouldn't be doing that.

I feel like the majority of my posts are positive. Maybe out of all my posts I've made 15 negative ones. Besides for that, only thing I b**** about is my front doors. there's nothing else I can do other than try and steer people to a different product or diy. Everything else is sarcasm and humor.

Your comment is a pretty big bummer dude. Don't paint me like that.

Turns out it's a crap video. I had ice on my windshield over the camera and the light didn't pick up very well.

Here's pictures. I don't know where to post them so I'm putting them here. 6936e78a6bf80377dabf2bb7b8c8dccd

Also thinking about chopping my bumpers whiskers off. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

I'm waiting on my boot camp dates. my tech school is full for the rest of the year so there's a priority list I can get on after my background check goes through.

Long story short, I'm broke AF until tech school pops up. That might be a while. I want that bison bumper, the one that wraps around the fenders. It covers the stock bumper anyways so even if it looks bad it won't matter.

Rig might look cool without the Pringles mustache.

I have the rainx stuff. I bought two bottles. It works great when it's about 20 or above but colder and it freezes your whole window over in a perfect sheet of ice. It was pretty damn funny the first time it happened actually. Threw it on a trailer and when we got to the trail I had to spend five mins scraping it off.

Thanks, now all I can see is the mustache. Too funny.
I don't like the stock bumper either. I added bezel guards and grill guard. Don't have a finished picture, waiting on the expanded metal for grill guard. Not sure if it looks better or worse, but at least it provides more protection. And I had fun playing with the tube bender. 8f10a819bc54531251118298636567d3

Let me finish this one. Can't find the right screen for my grill guard. Getting impatient.

I meant the tube bender.

JK. Looks good man. I like how you did slats covering the headlights. It would look good if you tied it into the bumper with a few reinforcing rods.

Now you can run branch risers!

Shoot some pics my way after your done.

I was just looking further into the bumper I linked. Go look at the pics of where it mounts down low...... That's hokie crap. You lose like 3 inches of ground clearance.... No thanks

I should have it done this week. Promised myself to do a build thread when I finish the bumper.
Excellent idea on the branch risers.
Losing any ground clearance is a no go for me.
The tube bender is all sorts of fun. Projects are starting to pile up. P1K takes priority. Lol.

I've learned my lesson. About recording video at 1080 60fps.

My videos are taking hours to upload, so I'll share tomorrow. I forgot to put the engine cover back on... Idk how much of an impact that is gonna have, but Im going to clip it back on. Maybe that's going to fix the whole problem for me.
