Do not use "Crimp" connectors that is a recipe for disaster. They will break at the crimp, sooner or later. There is only one proper way to attach a new pigtail, that is solder the joints and insulate with high quality heat shrink. Use rosin core solder, not acid core. Use .032 Multicore or silver bearing solder. Also clean that plunger and the bore of the throttle body to remove ANY signs of dirt, varnish or carbon.
Don’t think he is pigtailing, looks like a new connector with the inner crimp connectors.

IACV connector wire breaks are becoming more common.
The break is not visible and is inside the insulation of the wire usually right at the connector head. Just like the fuel injectors.
There have also been several reports of the MAP connector having the same issues.

This is why I ordered the plug without wires. I wanted to keep factory look and not the white wires plug offered in the store. Looks like you crimp and could put some solider in these connectors after running wires into new plug.

Good point. On a positive note I like the looks of the pioneer. Love the dual clutch transmission, paddle shifters, 3 in front seat and ability to seat 5 or haul stuff in a short wheel base.

I’ll write my fusterations to Honda (they prob won’t care) but I’ll feel better!

Thanks HondaSxS, this is some of the best information... So, I am curious, why do you suppose there are issues on these wires just outside of the harness connector/crimp...? Do you have any theories?

I think you need a special crimping tool for those. Delphi style maybe? If so you can find one on Amazon

Fixed! Crimped new connector on and check engine light is off along with normal idle. Cleared check engine light and restarted a few times - all good.
I checked fuel injector wires, wiggled them and no change in idle. I electrical taped up all the plugs to wires on that harness to give them some extra Rigidity.

Woo-hoo.
Did you find the break?

Yep, wires looked fine but wouldn’t ring out when tracing them from IACV plug to grey computer plug under driver seat. Break was right where the wires enter the IACV plug. You can see on the far right wire when I pulled on it it broke. But before this 2 of 4 wires wouldn’t ring out even though they looked fine. Wire broken inside insulation.
