P500 Cinnamon & Engineer Pass (eastern Alpine loop)

Rode the eastern half of the Alpine Loop from the Animas Forks ghost town over Cinnamon Pass to Lake City and returned via Engineer Pass. This was on Sept 8th and as you can see fall color is about 30% at this altitude.

Would have taken more photos but like a dummy I forgot to put the memory card back in my digital camera. These were taken on a cell phone.

@JACKAL< The Texas group is planning on a stop over in Lake City on the way up in Sept. I just haven't started a thread until the date gets closer. Hoping to stop in N.M.for a day or so and ride with @Montecresto, then a couple days in Lake City to ride the loop. So if you can spare the week or so before the main ride. Come and meet up with us in one or both stops.

Sounds like a plan. My biggest hurdle is arranging care for all of mommas fur babies.

Should have plenty of parking all around this.
I have two properties, about 12 miles apart, you can travel between them by SXS because it’s forest and a bit of county road.

I’ll be up there in a couple weeks and I can take better pictures and post them for you but at this property, basically an 800’ long drive way to park them all on, with a back way out to the county road so turning around isn’t necessary???

No, these are from the eastern half of the Alpine Loop which runs between Lake City and Animas Forks (a ghost town). Some of the group heading to Taylor Park plan to be in the Lake City area on the way there and I wanted them to see the "loop". It can be done in a day (5 hrs or so) but there are several side trails off the loop.

Montecresto, where is your property in NM? Looks beautiful - I'm guessing Tierra Amarilla or Chama area.

Gotcha, I can see now that St. Elmo is north of there outside Buena Vista.
