The first question from most intelligent individuals would be why?
Here is a couple reasons for this build.
First is when we got married in 1999 we agreed we wouldn't work for money, we would make money work for us meaning we wouldn't loan money for toys only for things that are needed to make money, with the exception of the house we have stuck to it no car payments nothing so it was going to take a while to save up enough money to buy and build a Talon the way I wanted it.
Two was I found this wrecked X4 Talon on Ebay in Arkansas with 400 and some miles on it and won it for $4,900 dollars.
It was complete but I don't have any pictures of it because I got home in the dark and my two youngest son's in the pictures made that pile of parts when they got home from school the next day before I got home from work 👍
To continue on I wanted a two seat are so I decided to build one .

So I bought this burned 2020 X for the frame and engine and radiator and miscellaneous other parts.
Here is bring the frame home after having it blasted and powdered.
Also I had put the 400 mile Talon motor in my Pioneer, when I took the burned motor apart it had set to long with water in the cylinders and was pitted beyond boring it and turned out to be junk, so I got new cases sitting at Honda and hope to pick them up tomorrow and assemble a motor.😀

I ended up getting a Tusk skid plate because it didn't have a lot of holes in, I intend to add them as needed to wash it out, with out the motor in it was easy to tip up on it's side to install them.

No doubt, and this one is more of adventure then even yours!
Most are nervous to cut holes, change things up, and do their own thing. That’s not what’s going to go on here. Built not bought is underway. He does a good job with stuff, this gunna be cool

I picked up my engine cases yesterday, and the parts guy that is really good said Honda has the gear I need in stock but they cannot sell them in the US so he said he would call them today and get the low down on it?

The boys installed the rear suspension last evening, I can't wait to see if it will work.
I bought four Rhino 2.0 axles and CA radius rods for a Talon R and modified the trailing arms to fit.
Originally I just sliced the trailing arms and was going to bend them to fit like in the first picture but the angle was to hard and it would get into the frame so I had to cut them and offset them to get the extra width.

Thanks it's a work in progress I was slowly collecting parts all winter.
Here is what I got done Saturday lengthened the stock front upper A arms they where a real pain in the neck but the finished product was what I wanted, the lower L&W where easy compared to getting the angle right on the uppers.

Look at that turning radius
Ha Ha
Sadly the the picture is deceiving.
It turns no sharper than a standard X I don't have the tied road connected which gives it a little more angle and those are my stock 14 inch Pioneer wheels the extra in set makes it look worse, it's funny the rear is more of a problem then the front for running 14 inch wheels I need to buy one inches spacers for the rear as it barely clears.

Did you order the shaft as well?

Really didnt need the whole drum either, just the star itself.
Yes I did the shaft, I also updated sixth gear which is higher to offset the lower geared sub transmission gear that is in stock but they are refusing to sell me. 🙄

Can you shed some light on what you are trying to accomplish with the gear ratios? Although most of the sub-trans gear part numbers changed, as far as I can tell, the tooth counts in the sub-trans did not change for the Talon in 2022. The only tooth changes were for the Pioneer (they lowered Low and Reverse and it now matches the Talon).

Never mind. I just figured out what you are doing, you are lowering high gear. I have only looked at lowering low, never even considered messing with high.

Sixth gear is higher in 2022 to off set the lower high range in the sub trans = net zero change in top speed.
Why I done it is I should be able to run 30 inch tires in high range and effectively be geared like the stock factory 28's ( I would like to have lower low range )
I intend to run 32's after the 29's which are currently on it.
looking at what Honda done to increase the 2022 tow rating was to add puny little 6 HP ( which is real ) and lowered there subtran's ratio which helps make it feel snappy then raised sixth to keep the same top speed.
