Has anyone installed an ignition cut off switch to help prevent having your ride stolen?
If so can you advise on installation and part?
My thoughts are that in addition to a good chain snd lock through the wheel / frame when my pioneer is left when we are fishing.
Thank you ahead of time for any replies!!

Wow looks complicated. Maybe I’m out dating myself but years ago during the muscle car years we had a simple toggle switch under the dashboard to the ignition in case someone popped the key ignition and hot wired the car. These days I know criminals used shaved down keys.

thanks but looking for a simple switch. Can not find on Amazon

Haven't seen anything like this.
Making one would not be hard at all.

I remember those days. If I was leaving my car in a bad place, or for a long period of time, I would pop the distributor cap and take the rotor bug out untill I got back.

My concern is not so much someone driving it off in my P500, but rather someone stilling my P500 while I am in a hotel. I have had two dirtbikes stole, one cabled to a telephone pole where they cut the cable and the other cabled to a trailer and the trailer hitch locked to the vehicle where they cut the trailer lock and stole the trailer and bike. I am going to hide a tracker in my P500 when I stay in hotel from now on, if I can't prevent a theft I will at least have a chance o retrieving the P500.

Put a motion detector alarm on it and stay within view of it. If you hear the alarm shoot’em

Ya I get the concerns I always try to back the trailer up against something so it can't be taken. You may think of a removable tongue jack also. One more thing they would have to deal with before they got it off the truck. I also use the threaded chain link couplers instead of hooks on the safety chains. That way they would need a pair of wrenchs. You may think about on the trailer a lock bar mount from the trailer to the hitch on the 500. Then it would be locked in. You can't ever stop a thief but if you deter them they usually won't try

I totally didn't forget that I stuck a Tile bluetooth tracker somewhere on my P5....
Not perfect, but there's a crapton of people using it so coverage is "OK" around populated areas. I got a handfull of em for xmas couple years back and had to do something with em.

I agree with all. Since my last bike was stolen (now 30 years ago), I use a cable, through the utv wheel to the truck, a lock on the hitch, and a cover over the UTV (Out of site out of mind). Backing up to a wall and adding a motion detector and bluetooth tracker sound like good ideas, thanks for the added security ideas.

I live in Montana as well. Yes the mountain thieves are getting way more prevelant than 10 years ago. If I catch them prowling the camp site, and they will, consequences they will have. It's amazing the thieves we have up here, especially where we ride. Smart they are, to steal in places as they do....... something to think about. Be as prepared as you can cuz they WILL come. Good post.

Trailering is another discussion had on here yrs ago and ended up going this route. Out of sight, out of the weather and locked up. Restaurants, motels, gas stations, trail heads, you just don't worry about it anymore.

Battery Shut off Switch with Removable Key ( take the key with you or hide on machine ) easy hookup can be Spliced in Positive battery lead ------- OR --------Negitive battery lead.
Will loose the clock setting each time it is turned off.
Plus side is -- use when you park or store any length of time ( weeks or months ) ZERO battery drain.
