I am wanting to build a snorkel for my p500 , more for dust control than anything else. I have studied some past post, but still am a lil lost. My question is what size pipe do I need and what size rubber connector will I need to attach to the hard intake pipe to the pvc?
Thanks

I used 2" pvc with a reducer to 1-1/4" (I think) to fit into the airbox boot. Here is a thread I posted on another forum.

Looks like hondasxs is jealous and blocking me from posting a link to another forum. NOT COOL

Anyway if you want to see the post go to hondapioneerforum and search "intake relocation".

anyone know what the "boxes" attached to this snorkel are? My f 250 has them also , on a larger scale . But for the life of me I dont know why theres these different sized compartments attached to the tube.

Those are resonators. They are use to smooth out the airflow and actually make the intake more efficient. A common misconception is that they are only used to reduce sound. They do reduce sound as well as the pressure waves from the valves opening and closing will create sound.

So, these "boxes" or chambers can help make your engine quiet and powerful.

I figured something with air flow balance ...Thanks

Heres my go at my snorkel, I bout couldn't make myself take a hacksaw to my rig to cut the intake head off. Im gonna add a screen to the opening of the intake. Just need to paint and glue!! Am I missing ANYTHING?

No I cut it about half way between the intake head and the next bend maybe a foot of the orginal intake. I fit the PVC and black Intake pipe with a rubber connector 1.5" to 2" had to put a lil soap on the black pipe to get 1.5" to go over!

If not going to leave resonators you don't need to cut at all. I took off stock intake tube. Used 2" but a 1.5" adapter with a bit of tapering using a file. Slid right in to airbox And clamp. Had to use two rubber couplers to make it 3 piece in order to get it inplace

I made a resonator and it made the intake noise less choppy and quieter, plus now with a rear cab on and the end of the intake outside the cab it's nice. Can feel a huge power gain with resonator as there is resident air in the intake waiting..... 'K ok maybe not.... Heh heh.

Here is how I did my snorkel with measurements - also a great video by @jay_man81 on his snorkel and venting.
