I started this in another thread (2 be linked later), but am restarting here. Traded the camo P1K-5 in for a leftover 2018 Polaris General 1000 Ride Command Version. Could care less about the built in GPS but the price was right on it so it sits in my garage now.

This thread will document the build, the fun, and the woes of this rig.

So far, I have added
- Seizmik vented windshield
- SuperATV tinted rear panel
- Polaris between the seats storage bag
- Off-brand footwell storage bag

On hand but not yet installed
- Seizmik strike mirrors and a pillar brackets
- Dome and interior accent lighting
- Lights for bed illumination
- backup lights
- Grizztek mud guards

On the wish list
- real skid plates
- storage box or rack

There's 3 Generals in the group I ride with. They're more capable on the trails than anything else.

Now you have owned both what do you see as pros and cons for each given you’re application?

As I get more seat time in this I will. I’ve been concentrating on putting some meat in the freezer so no real riding - besides it’s been raining like hell here.

Backstrap bar b q and riding in the general. Sounds like a good weekend!

A bit of work this morning. Added Grizztek mud guards for fuel tank, battery compartment, radiator guards and front inner fenders. These were all simple with the hardest part being rerouting the harness to the ECU for the battery guard.

Looks Good!

Some updates. Getting ready for a trip to Hatfield McCoy and that pushed me to complete some items.

Added:
LED Headlights with accent lighting
Rear floods
Whips
Dome light
5 USB chargers
Phone, gps, VIRB, and tablet mounts
blue LED strip lights for rear accent, low output dome lights, an footwell lights

Also moved the 4WD switch to the center pod. I have no clue why Polaris put it where it was.

And all the attendant wiring which took 400 forevers.
