About to need new tires for my truck and want to hear some others experience with tires they have run.

Background:
Ford F150 2015 - Current have 51K miles on the stock tires (I am impressed as they have lasted longer than any stock tires previously)
Current tire: Goodyear Wrangler M=S 275/65R18 116T

Desire is for a road quiet tire that will/ might see snow once or twice a year. I don't want anything that adds to the road noise and really don't need bigger tires this is a daily driver.

In other vehicles I have gone with the Michelin M/S and been happy but I have heard that they changed up the tire and some reviews left previous customers unhappy.

Just curious what others like or say to avoid

Yokohama Geolanders are my choice.
They’ve gotten the best longevity of any tire I’ve had on a pickup and quiet. Great in the snow. Have BFG on my current Dodge and they were a good tire but have worn out far too quickly and will be going back to Yokos.

Toyo AT II

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I got 63k miles out of my Toyo ATII's on my 2011 F150. Loved them but I know winter is coming. Each of the 4 tires still had 7-9/32 tread and I sold them for $250 for the 4 used tires. They wore flat, rode nice and never needed a patch or plug. I bought another set last month for the F150 and put Toyo HT's on the wife's Expedition. You cant beat a tire made in the USA that lasts 1.25 times the manufacturer's warranty and still holds value.

Just got in July some Cooper AT3 XLT tires. Used them on a 1k mile trip pulling my 5er and multiple times pulling my P1K5 up to the cabin. For an AT tire, there super quiet and have worn well so far. Not to mention they have a cool side wall pattern. Cooper is running a 100$ pre Pd Visa card for purchase now. Mine was 75$ got it fast too!

I put falken wild peak AT3 on my truck a few months ago and like them. I don't think that they are noise at all and have a 55k tread wear warranty (Have about 5k on them now). I have also had the Michelin M/S in the past also and really liked them, I don't like road noise either.

Forgot to mention, they have a 65,000 mile tred life warranty. Mine are load range E tires. They make them in other ranges as well.

thanks everyone. Tires are always hard for me to buy because it is a lot of money going into something that you usually don't change too often so if you get some bad ones ….. Several years ago I had some that were really bad about hydroplaning (this in my Nissan pathfinder).

I looked up the Toyo At II but only finding the ford dealer and one other place that carries them. Trying to get idea on $$.
keep the feedback coming I am looking them all up

Hankook AT tires on my F250. Put about 30k miles on them and holding up great. Slight road noise but not too bad.

I went after work and got quotes on
Nitto terra grappler G2 (one of the shops recommended)
BF Goodrich KO2
Michelin Defender LTX M/S
Big O Big foot A/S OWL - this is their house brand that they say is made by cooper and is same as cooper discoverer HTP. They also have one that is a coopers discoverer A/T3

No luck yet finding Toyo & geolanders at this first place but I have a few more to stop at

The top three above are all basically the same price - the house brand is significantly cheaper which always makes me wonder.

Great price!
Yeah, that’s what I thought! I was going to purchase locally but was quoted almost $1,000 including mounting and balancing. Couldn’t see spending that now because I am also installing new studded snow tires on my daughters car!

I too ran the toyo AT2 on my duramax dually. Had 90k+ miles on mine and they had decent tread when I replaced them. Quiet, smooth, great tire. More expensive than most and harder to find but an awesome tire. I am having them added to my f150 soon I hope.

Hope you have better luck than I did with those. Had two sets on a former Ram 2500 within 3 K miles. Both sets had 2 tires that were way out of round. Went to Toyo and never went back

In defense of Hankook, they stood behind the tires. This was several years ago and they had just released that tire so I suspect some early mfg issues as they were really quick to replace them with no questions asked.

They did run smooth, just when the outta round tires got out of synch, the shaking would remove fillings.
