He anyone installed the manual EMP wiper on there hard coat two piece Honda windshield? It looks to me like it just might fit if I get the 12" blade model. Would mount at the bottom of the tilting part just above the bend.

It will in time scratch the s*** out of the plastic. Especially if you mud ride.

Gonna scratch, find a good 6000grit polishing compound and prepare to not be able to see when the sun hits it.
What is the difference between a few manual wiper swipes a trip vs a squeegee?

Nothing... I used soaked the windshield and then used a wet wash not to barely clean the hard coat Honda windshield I had for my Valkyrie. Scratched so bad I had to replace it because I could see nothing when the sun hit it, I had to start using a cleaner specifically designed for cleaning a hard coat windshield. Then spray it off then wash it with water. Got to the point I just rode without it.

Glass is heavy and expensive but if you want a wiper it’s your only real choice.

That said a wiper is awesome! I even put a washer tank on mine. Used it last Sat, it was dusty and muddy for a few hours and warm (mid 70’s) then it came a downpour and it was much cooler (upper 40’s) muddy and raining. It was nice to be able to clean the mud spray and chunks off.

I went through a 3 gallons of water cleaning the windshield that weekend and it was raining for a day and a half. You will use it more than you think.

Can’t use rain-x on a plastic windshield either.

Thanks to all, I am going to give it a try as I don't ride in mud. That said I understand any dirt or dust will scratch even the hard coat. If I ruin it hopefully by then someone makes an opening glass windshield.

Couple question on the glass windshield, I assume that is oem, and if so how easy does it come off? Also did you put an oem wiper or aftermarket wiper on it. I really want a glass windshield that opens but no one is making one for a reasonable price or one that really opens up a lot. I think Honda's wiper is priced crazy and I don't want to have to run their switches. Any input from you would be appreciated.

OEM

The 1000 has 4 clamps. I can get it off/on in about 10mins

Honda wiper simply because it fits. You can wire it up without the Honda harness.

Thanks so much. As far as having the wiper as well is it just a wire harness disconnect up by the wiper motor so you can remove the windshield with wiper still attached? And you washer system, is that mounted in the hood as opposed to water coming out of the wiper?

There’s a connector right at the motor.

Mounted spray nozzles right in front of windshield. You can aim them with a toothpick. Washer tank is under hood.

Thanks so much! Appreciate the info. Gives me something to think about. Really hoping someone would make a windshield like the Ranger has but I'm getting tired of waiting.

Thanks, I had looked at it but didn't think it would work with the Honda top + it is BIG BUCKS. I will see how it goes and when mine is shot I will reinforce the edges and cut out a section and install a piece of laminated windshield glass. I was looking today and I think it is do able. Thanks again
