Some of you may know that I was lucky enough to win a Resonate Design front bumper. It's a pretty cool product and for some people it's an option for a front bumper with brush guard as well as a high mount winch. I personally don't like high mount winches so I never utilized that feature.

Fast forward to last weekend and I had a chance to run some really Rocky terrain which turned out to show the flaw of the approach angle present on most replacement sxs bumpers. We ended up with some damage and found a few obstacles that the bumper prevented us from making, including loading on my car hauler without ramps.

I figured now was as good a time as any to cut the bumper and improve the approach angle as well as beef up the leading edge.

Here's the RD mounts with a KFI winch bracket

Overall I'm happy to have more access to the winch and the mount should take a pounding

Better up grade tires, I have busted two stockers in the rocks, first one, I thought I wasn't running enough air, second on I was running 14 PSI. The up grade will help protect your rims as well, you rims look like mine. HA!

I've been happy with the stock tires at 16psi. I have 700 miles now and I'll probably wear them out before replacing. I could see them being soft with lower pressure.

I'm looking at a set of Kanati mongrels but I'd rather have front fox shocks for now

I up graded to Elka Stage 5's it's a HUGH improvement. I stock tires lasted five rides after I did the shocks. I've heard good things about the Fox's also.

Why did the tire life/wear change with shocks?

@Pep89 got the LE, rides with me a lot said the fox allow for so much more. I would assume the tires pay for some of that

Going a lot faster, the 4 plys couldn't take it. And it was on the same week end, 5 rides.

That was the goal. The bumper definitely left something to be desired on initial fit up but with the modification, I'm really happy now. I haven't put the belly skid plate back on but it should make a good transition to the flat belly.

Looking good!

(even as clean as it is!)

It was at the dealer for a rear pinion seal, sooo I bought new tires. It was clean for them to do the maintenance/warranty work. All my employees are technicians and if they brought a muddy mess into the shop I'd make them wash it, likewise I made sure my machine was clean before the Honda Tech had to work on it.
