Low fuel light comes on pretty early. I carried spare fuel and never used it starting out every morning with a full tank. I know for sure I did a couple of 80 mile days back when I had my P5. I remember worrying I was close to running out but it was only like 2 1/2 - 3 gallons to refill it.

At the TO a month ago we did an 84 mile ride. Low fuel light came on but it took exactly 3 gallons.

I hope your wife recovers ASAP and her pain is eased.
I just did a fuel milage test with our 520. I filled the tank up to in the neck. The gauge started flashing at 79 miles.

A note on the fuel gauge - don't trust it.
You'll learn that going down hill it will say that the tank is empty and flash low fuel, then when you start going up hill you've got plenty.
We coasted all the way down a mountain one time because the gauge said we were empty, only to get to a gas station and a gallon was all we could put in it.

Yes, I am finding that my gauge is in-accurate as well. There are 5 segments to the fuel level and seems the first 3 disappear rather quickly, so I assume I have less than a half of tank left. I put fuel in it and if I fill it right to the edge of the fill neck, I might get 1.5 gallons in it. I would recommend going by mileage rather than the gauge.
