Trying to help a friend out with a problem with his 700. It had been running fine, until they tried to start it a few days ago. He had left it under a shed at the hunting camp. It would turn over but not even come close to starting. We thought it was a fuel problem since the fuel gauge was steady flashing "E-----------F". After getting the panels removed from around the tank and attempting to get it out, we noticed rats had chewed the wires on the fuel pump 4P connector right up against it. We could not figure out HOW to remove the connector from the tank so as to attempt a repair. We ended up breaking the top off of it, but the bottom part is still attached to the take. HTH are you suppose to get it released and off without destroying it?

You just push the tab in yellow and pull.
If it has alot of mud/dirt. Squirt it with some wd40 or something and try again.

I will have to give it a better look tomorrow to see if I can source a replacement.

It kinda looks like this one. I will verify tomorrow.

The connector is $5, but shipping to me is $5, then shipping to you is $5.
Do you want 1ft tails? $5. lol.

So, $20 bucks.
Take a few days to get and a few days to you.

I sent you a PM reference the part. I can not say for sure if that pic is the same part or not, but is surely is not in the same 'surroundings'. On the 700 there was a fuel line running right next to it.

Yes, if you are able to verify that if fits the 700 4P connector, he will have to have it. Do you take CC? I will get a better pic tomorrow, but the one you showed appears to be oriented differently if it is the same. I need to find out how to get the remaining part off, so as to avoid having to pull the tank.

I've confirmed the 1000 and the 700 share the same fuel pump.
So my first pics is what you have.
I just need to check against the replacement and we are good.
If that is it. I'll probably just order a few tomorrows anyways.

as for getting the "rest" apart. You just need to get the part holding it together apart and it will pull off.
See yellow.

It is unplugged in this pic.

Ok. Will the 1000 and 700 having the same pump assure the connectors are also the same?? Your pic does not look the same, possibly just from different angle. These pics are after the top of connector broke away. Remainder still will not budge.C6cf9715d1ddc4f7dbdc202a4eec035cE99f44d2e26bf9f1c046b2e744505647732a613ad65c52be74e283534e3945565b59d40e5f1563a30c0d91582562412dFb8684412c7a406f947adb803d5fd0a7149452c9098f19795c216aed5d84b32b

I'm not sure it's the right connector. Looks like it could fit but it's a little different.
I already ordered 3 to try. 216c58f0011ff956ee8157b0d3c6295aE97138c08dbebb513ac46f51bb8e459fF853b8c7bfecb791dffe63c5ddabe78d29e28db441bf17213fe2dcda6b9e174d64b0b6e84079751c8bbcda2c4d05bb7fA50737a4968ff4e49ae080fe84f3a9a4Edaa15e1f8d27e55721fb1fa21b89dcb

So to get this off. All you do is push where the yellow is and wiggle while pulling. 2b7caf972197493057ddf2e359aded61

@Hondasxs I think the only difference in the connector on your machine and the one you found would be the blue end.

I believe you can pull that part off the original connector and install it on the new one. I'm not at work till Monday or I'd take a closer look at one.

I am assuming you spoke to someone about the connector being the same for 700/1000. If they advise it is, I am sure it will work. Ref the BLUE part ...... it must stick below the surface of the top of the tank, since it is not visible on this 700.

FAIL.
This is more rectangular and will not fit. It's close but too long.
Need the same but a square plug.
Search continues.
