Have a double amputee solider friend with a Polaris Ranger that mentioned he has a hard time with the brake pedal with his artificial leg. I don't think the Ranger has a parking brake like the Honda, but have not seen it yet. Some vendors have $500 kits, but looking for any ideas as there are some good inventors on this site. Thanks in advance.

@jak9922 or @Moses
One of these guys should be able to help you. Post a few pictures of the Ranger and what his needs are. Im sure someone or all of us can come up with something that will work for him.

Just thinking out loud... Maybe weld a long handle to the pedal? Kinda like one of those drifter handbrakes?

Onboard compressor, cylinder mounted to brake pedal, needle valve actuator....Voila! Adjustable push button braking system. Is he wanting parking brake or service brakes?

This would be the way to go. My suggestion is adjustable, but in an emergency stop, you wouldn't have time to twist a knob to adjust brake pressure lol.

Yes ! I have one on my Rzr (park brake) cost was like 50-60 bucks . would be easy to extend the handle and use as hand brake .

Thanks for the replies, his machine is in the shop now so when it returns I will put my own eyes on it and repost with pics and explore the options. Another similar veteran who stared an assistance org. got him a zero turn so he can cut his own grass. Thanks again. Ps. Like the drawing.

I have a friend whose son is paralyzed. He fixed up a Rhino for him with hand controls from a car. The kits for sxs are very expensive but you can often find them in junk yards in a car or van for almost nothing. I think you could pick up a used set of hand controls and with a little modification make them work. If he only needed the brake portion im sure you could trash the throttle parts.
