Hey everyone, I'm about to put a deposit down for a new 1000-3 LE. Not too sure about the matte green metallic color, but I really like the rig overall. I was leaning towards a new Can Am Commander, but thought that would be too big of a vehicle for my first SxS.

I'm choosing the Honda primarily because of the geared drive shaft vs a belt CVT drive and the reliability of Honda. When looking at the Can Am I really liked the simpler maintenance schedule (every 2,000 miles). What is the suggested Honda maintenance schedule?

Also, I'm a little concerned about the heat issues I've read about online and heard about on videos around the seating area. I get that the engine is in the middle of the vehicle so heat will be factor. Is excessive heat still a concern with Honda P1000's?

Regardless, I'm still sold on the Honda and am looking forward to the new, neon green machine . . still not sure about that color.

Any color will grow on you so don't let that bother ya.

Insulation will help with the heat. The radiator is up front (on my Talon) and I'm still working on it. Point is - after 25 years of snowmobiling, anything is better than a CVT IMO. And Honda has it all over the others when it comes to reliability.

Another Iowan here... You'll like the LE, I have an 18. The manual has a good section on maintenance, 1st oil change can be intimidating , Youtube was a huge help for me.

From the pics ive seen, that green looks cool! As for heat, insulation and a under-seat bilge fan works wonders.

Good move Honda DEPENDABILITY - over Can Am nice machine when new would have discovered worse heat & more maint $$$$

Splatter with mud, don’t wash. Color is fine. Personally I hated red and if I could've chosen a gnome with a green hat I would’ve. But Red is the Pointiest color! Green on the other hand blends in like snot on a rock...of course, there ain’t no rocks in Iowa...ceptin them big hairy types that lurk 👀 anyhoo, be welcomed hereabouts...

Welp, I put a deposit down on my matte green mean machine. Should be available/arrive at my dealership by end of April.

I also got a look at the green color on an ATV that was in the showroom - it was the 2021 Foreman Rubicon 4x4. The color was a lot darker than I thought and actually looked pretty darn slick. So I think the color will be fine.

Getting a roof, winch and split hard coated windshield installed too. Will look into a chainsaw holster for it soon, but may just hook up my truck carrier to the Pioneer to start, its a universal 2" hitch carrier.
