so you guys know just order up a set of HIDs off eBay. They are a direct plug and play setup easy! You can choose color (5000k brightest) and 35 or 55w. I went 35w and 6000k. Stupid stupid bright and around $30! No modifications of any kind just plug in. You could even take back out later. I'm getting the 1000 but will trade out headlights for non led so I'll run 55hid much brighter and better depth. 35watt hid actually runs less true power then the stock halos. I'm a light guy. Just aim headlights down a little and the beam annoys no one! We put thousands of miles a year on them. Just type in bulb type and hid done. Here's a pick of them(towing the Polaris back, again)

Normally I don't but when it's easier cheaper brighter and you don't have a 15k rig fornicated I prefer. Understand I have 10 side led fixtures at 180 watts on the sides 420watts on roof 80watt driving lights three rows of 10watt led strips all door activated backup light with 120watts based off reverse rewrapped stater to handle over 600 watts not only can I go the hard way but also am open enough to go the easy way:)

Just saying that people might be interested in knowing that those garbage factory headlights can be 3 times brighter with better aimed lights that penetrate 3 times as well for the price of replacement bulbs and be changed by anyone with a phillips in 30 minutes. Not a bad way to go. Just trying to share information.

if anyone is interested this is the set I buy for all my dirtbike's cars truck motorhome everything they are very good. These will come with the right plugs and everything fits in the factory waterproof housing. Just order 866 when it asks for bulb type. Chose your own color but 4300/5000 (just like Audi,Benz, bow and Lexus cars or bluer like mine at 6000k. All you have to know is bulb type 866! Nothing else to buy!

Thanks for posting the bulb type that makes it a heck of a lot easier. Wonder if the P500 uses the same socket / bulb type as the P700. did some checking in the parts fiche the OEM Honda bulb fits ALL of these models below:

So I guess the 886 type fits everything then on the P500 & P700

Looks good especially for a quick simple upgrade. I did the same and got some from DDM Tuning for around the same price including shipping. Stocks are good but nice seeing a bit further and more lit up, plus nice matching headlights with the light bars lol

Thanks for the info. Just got the xentec kit you mentioned. Found it for $22 shipped on ebay. I got the 5K color, hope it matches my led light bar.

I just finished installing a HID kit on my Pioneer as well. Took 15 minutes to do both sides and looks 1000 times better! Just in case you can't tell, stock light is on left and HID is on right. I ordered mine off of Amazon for $40 with overnight shipping (link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008YFTZMC?tag=sxsweb24-20 ). They're the 880 bulbs in 6k color.

I would imagine the 500 takes the same. It did take me a bit to find actual type for the 700 as everyone just wants to to buy their replacement bulb at nearly the same price. I'll bet you'll agree for the money and time to install there's no better upgrade. Make sure you go with a kit with slim ballasts as they only will fit into factory housing. The kit I mentioned is slim. The headlights come alive and not going to lie it just looks damn cool updates the machine massively. From what I've noticed the 5000 is just a bit whiter and the 6000 just a little bluer then LEDs however each kit the colors are a very slight bit whiter/bluer.

As long as you know your bulb type in your car truck arc motorcycle ect this will work in darn near anything. It's the same theory. Some Dodges have reversing ground won't work well but even older cars that have sealed beams you can purchase headlights with h4 replaceable halogens (around $30 set) and then buy the h4 kit. As long as the vehicle has a battery and not just the stator(as that is a form of voltage that led and hid will NOT work with) it generally works. We have HIDs in everything we own and once you go to them you can't see with halogens. We have a '13 Polaris 850x2(piece of crap!!!! Not a Honda!!!) with three stock halos we switched the lows out with 35hid and center upper high beam with 55w and there is absolutely no need for accessory lighting it was that easy. If you do plan to roll into traffic do not use 55hid it pisses people off!! That is about 4-5 times the actual light and it gets noticed!! But for off-road-only awesome

Anybody installed HID on P500? I've ordered HID kit bulb type 880-893, the socket it exact fit but the part where wires coming out is straight and not under 90 degree angle like 886 bulb, so I can not close back light cap/cover, even if I bend wires.

I just installed mine in the p500. They are also straight out like yours but not quite as far. I was able to bend the wire down and get the cover back on...hope it wont damage the wire long term. I purchased the xentec brand for $22 on ebay. Super easy install, took less than 5 min. They look great but do flicker a little, not sure if this is normal or not.
