P1000 Hitch Receiver Extension

Are you using an extension in your receiver hitch to get clearance so your trailer does not contact the muffler shield? If so, which one did you get? I can't find a regular insert long enough to get the ball back far enough.

Drill another hole in my bar so that it will stick out a little bit further.

Do as Joey did if problems. If you add an extension you'll drastically reduce capacity and place lots of additional stress on the factory steel it's thin back there. Only a 150 rating of downward weight

was just looking into this, and Joey has the right solution I think. Otherwise were creating a big lever that's going to apply more pressure than desired.

The original slot is actually quite strong. I had a dirtbike carrier with a dirtbike on there for a days ride with no issue.
