Honda never resting in continuous product cycles of improvements and added features has filed a patent US 10150481 that in layman's terms allow you to pull back on both paddles simultaneously, pin the throttle, and let go to effectively dump the clutch for high powered launches. This would also allow for spooling up a turbo for the most effective acceleration possible. Currently only the Yamaha YXZ has a similar feature. Every CVT machine effectively cuts power if you press both the brake and accelerator together to prevent burning up belts.

This would be especially effective for getting off the line quicker in competitive events, etc. Operating principle is described in ABSTRACT of screenshot. Full patent attached below.

This feature is not on any 2019 Hondas yet, but could be rolled out anytime they choose to do so.

I expect withing 3 weeks of this becoming available @CumminsPusher will have video of launched wheelies while pulling his Dodge RAM.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

No telling what @snuffnwhisky will do with it.

It is possible an ECM swap could be all that's needed to turn on this feature, Uncle Honda HRC could sell it with a "race tune" & high performance pipe w/o emissions as a closed circut competition kit. Could be a quick way to bump to nearly 120HP and add Holeshot feature for racing, etc.

Im not as experienced on the road as you but can try. Maybe I’ll do a video pulling a Ford into the dealership.
That reminds me I forgot to mention in my thread about the new hitch cover

That’s one thing I’d honestly just not use. Seems way too hard on components to do in a continuous manner, even if it’s able to take it why would that be necessary in the trails?

One practical "trail use" would be that situation like in a creek bed with a steep dirt slope, no room to get a run at it, but using that feature might generate just enough oomph to get up and over. Might be replacing prop shaft too :eek: Too early to tell. I can see in low range people getting into "wheelie trouble " and scratch up the new ride.

I know this sounds weird coming from me but that would be the worst time to run it. Might be fun occasionally but anymore that’s just not something I would do very often with either the Yami or the Talon. Kinda cool the two can do it though, just showing off in front of the rubber band clan lol.

It's really only necessary when the green flag drops, the buddies and girls are watching while the cameras are rolling and that CVT machine beside you can "feel the burn". Hey try this with your POPO or CannedHam, you could smell rubber burning but it's not the tires smoking :D

Nice to see Honda add this feature! I suspect, however, this will be extremely hard on the drive train for those wanting to “dump the clutch” with larger wheels/tires. Oh well, we will see and confident it can all be solved with enough $$$

It’s just for looks. In real life you will never see a dodge towing a Ford.
It’s actually really common to see a Dodge pulling a Ford... people got crafty and hide the evidence with a hood.
