P500 Honda Pioneer 520 height

Morning guys. Been lurking here for a bit to get tips and ideas for my friends '15 Pioneer 500. Great little machine!
I convinced myself to buy a 2021 pioneer 520 because I liked the 15 so much. picking it up Friday.

Question, my enclosed is about an inch tall enough to fit the machine without a roof, but the door drops down 3" or so. We tested it with the 15 and if you let the air out of the rear tires it clears by 3/4" which is 3/4" enough for me. I read the roll cage on the 520 is slightly change from the previous, and the online specs suggests the 520 is a little shorter than the 500. Further, I'm 5'9" ant the 500 seems to be level with my head.

Can anyone confirm the height of the 520 being around 72"? its a 4 hour drive to get to this machine.

Not kidding here….someone bought wooden discs (probably designed to be barstool seats or signs or something) and drilled the bolt pattern in them. He swaps his wooden wheels on which are just barely bigger than the rotors/brakes to load his P7 in an enclosed trailer.

The thread was hysterical if you find it and read it.

It would work for a backup plan for you.

Bring a cordless sawzall with you. it makes cage mods in the field so much easier. BTW, don’t forget duct tape.

Honda Website lists the 2021 520 as 71.2 inches for height and the 500 as 71.3 inches. I know my 2020 P500 just clears a 72 inch opening w/o deflating tires.

'15's and 16's supposedly sat 1" higher. When they came up with the adjustable front shocks they dropped the ride height.

Thanks guys for the comments. I'll be checking out the wooden wheels thread, that seems like a bit if work lol.

71.3 and 71.2, that's correct, that's the numbers I read, but in my head I remembered them further apart. Those number make sense, altho I thought be bike felt lower to me when I stood right beside it. But I had an inch or so at the trailer ceiling clearance but 4" less at the door opening. But it went in, so I think I'm going to chance it and use the trailer.

If you want a roof the EMP adds less than 1/2 inch to height, Honda roof adds several inches. I also have an enclosed with 72" door, and 2017 500 with EMP roof fits. We are limited on tire height.

Let air out of tire to get low enough to fit, then inflate at home. If you don’t have a 110v compressor for your home shop- now’s the time. Get a 12v for the field.

X2 on EMP metal roof adding 1/2” max. I put one on my P5 with their glass windshield. Very pleased so far.

Upper light bar may be an issue. I mounted a second led bar below the glass, you could do that with a wider light bar. I just happened to have the shorter light bar available.

I just ordered the poly EMP roof. It's pretty sleek looking

I have the EMP Poly roof and really like it. Seems fairly durable; I get a lot of low hanging branches dragging across it and it shows no damage so far. Light too!
