We had a pricing thread before the official release. Link below.
Now that its released and we know the specs, we should start a new one vs adding to an already long thread with no basis to price it.

Like everyone. I'm interested in the price. Now that we have know the full specs we can get a better idea of what it might actually cost.

So...
What is the MSRP of the Honda Sport machine going to be?
After seeing it and knowing more about it what are your thoughts?

Please enter the poll above, Select 2, one for Talon R and one for Talon X

Here is the old thread - Talon - Guess the Honda Talon Pricing GAME - Prerelease

Thanks.

Like some I’m very interested in pricing but feel we have at least an idea what it would take to purchase a Talon.

I stopped in at the Polaris dealer last week, just to look at there 19 RZR 1000's, told the sales lady I was just looking and asked what they were worth, she said $ 14,000.00. I think the Talon will be a little higher, $ 15,000.00 ???????? But not going to buy anything anymore first year out!

I’d LOVE that to be the correct price! That would actually bring massive attention to the brand and sway some I think.

I too stopped into the dealership and wasn't surprised by what I heard in that many customers in the area expressed interest following the announcement, and the dealership believes a number of folks will be wanting to trade but it will be a dealers market, i.e., people wanting something new which is in limited quantity (these units will trickle into dealerships), so you have to pay up to be first on the block to own it...

Yep, im seeing 2018 RZR XP for about 15k as well as the X3 900 (90hp but good suspension) for 15k.

I think if the real world pricing for the X model is much over 15 its gonna struggle.

I'm very interested at 15k. Interested, not sold. For me the hp is fine. My main concerns are ride, ride, ride. Also is the clutch issue now a non issue ? I4WD, hmmmmm? Will I miss my true diff lock ? I look to you current Honda owners for your thoughts.

Is the price set to "What I am hoping to pay" vs "How many Sponge-Bob autographs do I have to sell in order to afford it?"

I have my fingers crossed at 13-15k. I will be a huckleberry at 15k or under. POPO you can get a RZR 900 for 12/13k 12k will get you in the seat, 13-14k will get you EPS and Fox shocks.

I know the Talon is a 1000 i think it is better suited being compared to the RZR 900 from a performance stand point. I don't think it will hold a candle to the yammy, RZR 1k or X3 those are just pure performance machines.

I watched at the last mud bog a stock X3 on 27in BKT type tires run circles around everything stuck until it popped it's belt then I got to tow it back to his camp with my P1k5.

That X3 impressed the crap out of me he winched another SXS out and buried himself doing it and managed to get out and do literal circles around all the other SXS and 4 wheelers buried.

I am guessing MSRP of the 1000X to be about $22,499 and the 1000R to be about $23,299 based upon the pricing structure of the only other models with I-4WD and Fox Shocks. Being as the Talons offer a 44% HP increase & a 50% (X) & 100% (R) suspension travel increase over the Pioneer LE's that even the Talon X variant would MSRP slightly more than the P1K3LE price at $20,299. I know everyone wants to say they got to price them low to compete with RZR 1000 EPS selling at $15K or so but the pricing from Hondas viewpoint is they are offering MORE performance via power, suspension, comfort, and design considerably above what the Pioneer LE's offer.

Going with the below discounts from volume dealer with 20% off MSRP the 1000X might be had around $17,999 and the 1000R for about $18,600 if my guesses are in the ballpark, not saying they are but it makes sense to me. In any case you can expect to see Talon MSRP notably north of $19,999 I can just about guarantee that.

The closest competition to the Talon models for HP, wheelbase, weight, suspension, etc. are the RZR 1000 EPS which MSRP for $17,999 and the 2019 Yamaha YXZ SS SE at MSRP $20,599

Given the current discounts reflective of those outgoing models I could easily find.
P1K3LE $20,299 - sale $16,294 (19% off MSRP)
P1K5LE $21,899 - sale $17694 (19% off MSRP)

RZR 1K EPS $17,999 - sale $14394 (20% off MSRP)

2018 P1K3LE Price 16294
2018 P1K5LE Price 17694
RZR1000EPS and RC 14394 or 15594

I’m HOPING for 18.5 and 19,5.
I know it’s a hell of a machine but they are brand new to the market. I believe if they want to steal the market then stay just shy of 20, get a years worth out there in slower supply then market which adds desire then bump next years model with a little performance and slowly increase price to meet demand.
IMO if you want to take business away from someone you either undercut them or offer more for the same price until you have a solid enough customer to match your ability.

I want a SPORT S X S, will never give up our P1-5 though, nothing out there that compares with the platform yet. And it's serves many jobs well, hauling mulch, garden, flower bed refuse, tools, dogs and fire wood at the cabin! I really think Honda is headed in the right direction, they just need the Talon suspension/frame under a P1-5 platform, best of both worlds!

He's basing that on what all the LE owners paid and the up graded suspension of the Talon. I bet the LE's cost less to manufacture than the regular P1's, just saying!
