How to service a Jackson turbo air filter

Is there a video on how to service the Jackson turbo air filter. How much plastic do you have to remove to get to the filter. I figure while I am in there I will up grade the air filter system. I live in a VERY dusty place. Any recommendations on a new air filter. system for the Jackson turbo would be greatly appreciated.

I think there are a few that have gone to a Donaldson filter setup. Not sure of all the particulars on there setup just remember reading about it on here.....I know that's not much help but at least you know it can be done!)

the stock jackson is the worst setup. even worse than the stock one. you can plant a garden in it after a few rides. some one needs to come up with a good 3 inch filter setup that they can mass produce. i have a donaldson that i built. but its a 2.5 inch filter setup. so far have not seen any problems with it.

I agree, this thing is a royal PITA to service. Sub'd for updates. I do like the idea of the Donaldson with the Top Spin.

i put my donaldson under where the jackson one was, and trimmed the plastic cover to fit over

Here is what im using in my jackson housing. get the outer wear also.
its a 99.7% effiency. the stock jackson one is 97.52. with the way the jackson one is located drill some water drain holes on bottom edge to help in case of water intrusion.

My GM cleans and re-oils his every race.

The race before the last was pretty dirty from all the dust. An hour of racing in probably the dustiest conditions so far covered it pretty good.

Even the 12 hour race at TexPlex wasnt that hard on it like that race was.

there is also a guy selling a donaldson housing that is a KRX filter housing. it works. but is't not as good of an option IMO. it is a 3" in and out though.

Purchased a 3 inch intercooler pipe kit on Amazon and did that. I ran the pipe inside the triangular plastic grill so if I ever have to replace its a small piece.Just added a snorkel top from my jeep and works great.

The snorkel top was about 1/2 bigger in diameter than the Jackson housing so I just trimmed it out so it would slide inside and silicone in place. I was going to add some screws or rivets but I liked the way it turned out with out seeing screws
